" Nicky feels his future lies where" maybe it wasn't Coleman's decision to get rid of him?

Not that it really matters we need players who are willing to fight for the badge

clearly he wasnt up for the fight next season to get us back up, end of, dont need/want players with that attitude. I read it as "we dont want you Nicky, so we'll put it as you decided rather than given the boot, so as not to put off potential suitors"

Life is a game of fate.

Who can blame him

Looking forward to the day Vinnie dies...

I think Adams has had something of a bad press this season, and perhaps judged harshly simply of his tweets where he (mistakenly) has tried to say the right thing. There have been far worse performers than Adams over the season, but as many have pointed out, there is talent there, but we've not seen the potential.

But as we know, this squad needs a lot of changing and freshening up, and the more exits from the club, the better for me, as it gives Coleman freedom to put together the squad he wants.

Good luck Adams if he finds another club.

Cant see any one wanting to pay over £20k for him to be honest..

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

not good enough consistently enough to be more than a league one player at best, moving on is his only chance ..cant see another Leicester type team coming in for him this time though...Bury at best

Given the opportunity I would pay someone £20K to take him.
I have no idea how he won so many MOM awards unless his mother was making the selection. no tricks, no pace, no "devil" no cross, no shot, no tackle, no bottle, no use.

It's all very well clearing the decks but are we going to be able to compete with other clubs in the region for available players ? We are never normally able to.

Successive managers have always complained about the difficulties they have with competing with other clubs on available talent.

So if we let go of what I'd consider 'Good League 2 players'...Adams, Grimes...are we going to end up with panic buys like Balkenstein and Barnes Homer as replacements ? I would personally be looking to keep the likes of Adams on this basis.

JLAA, Adams and Widdowson were rare successes of the early stages of the Eyre era. All three were playing much better than under Hill. To forget this us a bit unfair.

It's correct to point out that only Jean Louis maintained any sort of consistency.

Certainly wont lose any sleep over this news.

Get a small fee and hopefully get in some better talent.

Au Revoir Nicky.

As has been said no big loss, presume any club wanting him will simply just have to take over his contract. Too many times this season his decision making and final ball have just not been good enough, something which is frustrating as I really thought this season he'd kick on and become a key player for our side. Unless he improves his crossing significantly his potential will be wasted.

New players for next year: think McConville and Symes - that calibre of player

It's a good question which I suppose is answered by Div 3 (North) effectively being one of two 'basement' divisions, whereas League 1 still has a whole division below it.

Or summat!

No, that would be a measure of how low the team finishes, not how high. Being one position out of automatic promotion to the second tier (whern incidentally there was only one promotion place), even if there were two parallel divisions, must be higher than being ninth in the third tier.

As for Nicky Adams, lets just "I'm gutted" with perhaps the same feeling as when he uses it.

Will struggle to get better.

Nicky is one of the few L1 standard players we have.

However not a surprise as he was not a regular towards the end of the season (our goal threat always increased when he came on though) and will free up some wages.

I echo that, quality player. Did need to work on his crossing though

nicky is a talented player but very frustrating

i am more than happy to see him go and give coleman a bit of a bigger budget

Yes his final ball was largely wasteful but I still think he's a quality player and one of the only players we have who can actually beat a man. Personally I'd have liked to keep him but if we can get a bit of money and bring some fresh talent in then that's good enough for me.

Thanks for the service and good luck Nicky, I have no doubt that you'll find another club.

I see you're back again, Nigel.

Now, that question I asked you the other night. Come on, just be honest with us. What is the REAL reason behind your beef with the manager?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

0
Nicky Adams on 23:07 - May 3 with 1428 viewsRAFCBLUE

If Nicky had the talent he thought he had, no doubt he'd be playing at a higher level, possibly in the Championship.

But his attitude at this level is not good enough. He is caught out of position too easily, shirks a challenge and shows his real quality on too few occassions which makes him a passenger we can ill afford at either League 1 or League 2 level.

It's interesting his twitter refers to his part in "Rochdale's highest ever finish" - which contributed 41 appearances in all competitions and no goals. This year's 46 appearances and 4 goals is a better return - but for me he's performed at a similar level in both campaigns.

I like the JC take on situation - stick him on the transfer list and see who bites. He's a Dale player until such time that a suitable financial offer comes for him - taking over a not inconsiderable packages for a club in the bottom two leagues.

Having watched players who will next year play Premier League football, Adams isn't in that category - he doesn't have either the work rate or killer instinct to make it.

My money would be a move to Bury or Oldham. A League 1 club that wouldn't mean uprooting a young family. Neither look likely to have suitable funds to stump up the "nominal" fee needed.

I'll miss his Twitter/internet posts/rants too.

In fairness Adams was one of the league leaders in the assist charts last season, something which admittedly was down to Dawson.

They're worse. It's fine saying we want players with the right attitude but if they're gash then what...? The hallmark of a good manager should be to identify talent then use it by ironing out any attitude/mental issues.
0
Nicky Adams on 15:17 - May 4 with 1167 viewssweetcorn

Don't think we've seen enough of McConville to judge whether he's good or bad, by all accounts, it seems he has had a bad season and maybe his confidence has been low. Looks like a proven league two player in his last year at Accrington 13 from the wing is a very good return.

"Hired by you know who".

Erm, would that be the manager of our club? Who else would it be?!
