What? That's a normal price for a t-shirt...

Exactly. He must be used to £2 tops at matalan. If it was onsale cheaper then people would be saying it's a waste of time because the club won't make money. Remember, it's a club 'shop' and not a club 'charity shop'

Poll: Dale player. Do you use it?

Have i fell asleep and its now April 1st????
Get with the times marketing dept, who on earth is gonna want to walk around wearing that sh1te, very classy.
I second the beach towel idea.

Why dont the marketing dept come on here first with their ideas, as sort of a fans sounding board type of this, instead of wasting the clubs money.

I'm glad you're not wanting to give away a used bedsheet, Breels.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Oh F**K. I have no choice in what I get from the Dale shop. Hope I am not looking at my Birthday present.

Definately better than the Coleman's Mustard t-shirt which doesn't say a lot though. Fair play to the club for at least trying new ideas at the club shop -Can't get too much worse than the current items in there!

I've never met anyone who found them damn meerkats funny in anyway. I'm all for new ideas in the club shop, but we need more modern stuff in there, simple blue shirt with maybe a gold crest in corner, things that you can wear outside the ground an still look casual not tacky.

*embarrassed for whoever made these up smiley*

I like the meerkats it was a brilliant bit of marketing and so funny

I think you may be surprised by the popularity of meerkats, albeit more in the form of a soft toy as opposed a t-shirt. That said there are numerous clubs up and down the land that have produced a very similar t-shirt with said animal on the front, so we are certainly not on our own in this regard.

The problem the merchandising buyer at the club will have is that he/she has a very limited market to whom to to sell bespoke t-shirts and I would contend his major potential customer, lads in-between their 20s and 40s who would want to wear the merchandise to the pub, will simply shun a product such as this. That said you can quite easily produce a low run of what is essentially a printed t-shirt, so if you don't like it simply don't buy one.

Whether you feel there is a market for a more subtle t-shirt to target lads in this 20-40 age range however is another matter altogether.

Quite a good day actually. i just think some people who work for RAFC must feel damned if they do, damned if they dont.

...and in the Club Shop they largely 'don't'......on the few ocassions they 'do' it's very hit and miss.

I would've expected this range more from the buckets than us - what with them having their World Famous bury Meerkat.

I can hear you all laughing now, but I wouldn't mind one. It would be a novelty here in Oz, and would help Dale financially!
