Some of the oldtimers here 14:09 - Apr 28 with 8111 viewsE17hoop

Some of the people who have been on this board since the old Rivals days might remember my son - E17Jnr. He's now grown up and is going to be a Dad, making me a Granddad later this year.

For the grandparents here - is it much fun as everyone says?

The Rivals days take me back to being a spotty 16 year old, nearing 40 now! I remember the coach to Cardiff for the playoff final, trying to eat a full English at a services coming down off one of my first er Class A experiences.

This message board in its various guises has been with me my whole adult life!

Congrats on becoming a grandfather, brilliant news!

As the QPRNet Squad no. 0, I was here in the rivals day and can honestly say I am surprised you weren't a grandad then, Andy!

Nah, just kidding - all the best, matey, enjoy them...

Can we go out yet?

I have three great grandchildren one of which will be an R. The other two unfortunately have a hammer for their dad.

This is the problem - his partner's family are all Gooners. Jnr doesn't come to football much any more but I can sense a few QPR babygrows betting purchased and a slow indoctrination and wanting to spend time with Granddad on a Saturday.

This board has been with me from late teens to now mid 40s.

Fair to say I've mellowed over the years but looking back I can see how I rattled a few cages with my arrogance whilst in my younger years.

No grandchildren but the kids are growing up fast!!

Not that I am bessies with Methuselah or anything but we have 7 great grandchildren. Oldest grandchild is 35 now with two kids of her own and the others are all based in the US so we don't see them that much.

Crickey, when you mentioned you'd come over to the States years ago, I didn't realize it was on the Mayflower!

I'll always have that night on Plymouth Rock looking up at the firmament in wonder and expectation of what lay ahead. Getting New Amsterdam for a handful of beads was a touch though.

The grass is always greener.
