High noon for Lowe and co… a QPR match thread 10:43 - Mar 30 with 49055 viewsMonkey_Roots

Having spent an okay’ish season with QPR, lazy, lumbering Lowe will only be too aware of how returning players are want to punish the R’s, and break the hearts and minds of the fans.

How it normally happens, is the player will spend 90 mins against QPR doing the exact opposite of what they did playing for QPR, just to really invoke froth and anger from the fans. So, expect a crazed unstoppable lunatic sprinting around, sacrificing any available body part to get the ball, tears rolling down his cheeks as he lines up for something he truly cares about… this will, of course, be the Jamal Lowe that faces QPR on Monday.

He’s done well this year for Swansea, a good return for goals and assists… and, maybe crucially, he has just scored against the Owls, so may have got it out of his system a game too soon.

Let’s hope so.

I’m going for a wild away win 0-3.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Their crosses from the left side are a bit wicked and dangerous, terrible misses on our side but glad we’re not behind. Hodge doing really well. Wonder what Marti will do for the 2nd half

Hook Dykes for Armstrong with any luck.

Dykes never gives the person with the ball an option. Just runs along side the defender rather than making a run I to space. Always seems to be a few seconds behind the play. His anticipation is awful.

Quite frustrating as they're not very good and this, like Sunderland, is three points up for grabs.

However, can't really complain with 0-0 away from home. Credit where it's due - two good saves from Begovic.

I hope Marti makes some early changes and we see Lucas, Chrissy and Sincs among others early doors.

Late Swansea pressure so pleased to see half time. Well done Begovic.

Yet another game there for the taking and we can be confident that Marti will make the right substitutions.

Wasteful half. Chair should have drilled it, Dykes with a horrible shank. But we are giving it heaps. Field with some timely tackles/intercepts/ disruptions.

Swansea are there for the taking

Armstrong on at HT for the ineffective Dykes

Credit to Begovic for those two saves

Dykes never offers much as a striker. Sometimes he is good as an attacking midfielder. He isn't fast, he doesn't have a good footballing brain, his positional sense is poor, his instincts aren't great. He is strong and that's about it. ON the other hand, its not like the replacements are ripping it up, so ...

Swansea aren't to bad , I think Arnstrong would definitely put the wind up them 2nd half.

Give Begovic his dues today, two vital saves and on another day both those are goals and most days Chair has to score from close range.

Therefore all in all, happy to go in at half time level.

Like others would bring Armstrong on for Dykes. Dykes doesnt even make the runs into space ie expecting the rebounds - this team could be so so much better with even half decent players with abilities to put away gilt edged chances.

I would be looking to offload Dykes this summer. Simply doesn't have that strikers instinct nor has enough pace to cause teams problems.

No panic. They don't look great and we should be at least one up. We've got options off the bench, including the Danish Jesus.

Larkeche getting a bit of a roasting down that left hand side, needs some support or that’s where their goal is likely to come from.

Shame about not taking the chances, Swansea are dangerous but nothing special, 0 - 0 at the half is fine with a cracking bench available to unleash in the last 20.
