I thought it was a great game, Hull were really good but I think we were better, no inverted full backs today, a 4-1-4-1 with two 8's Chair playing the advanced one switching between an 8 and 10 role. Begovic will get plaudits but I dont think he made a save he should not have, Willock one goal and an assist should get MOTM, but Chair and Clarke-Salter were phenomenal, as was Cook. I thought we should have been at least 2 up by half time Dykes missed a sitter.

Willocks goal was classic Willock and in X block you kind of knew it was going in before he even hit we've seen it so many times before.

I think today everyone left with a massive smile on our faces, knowing we have our rangers back and we've probably bagged one of the divisions outstanding managers. There will for sure be bad moments, and drops in form, but today I think as a fanbase we came to the conclusion that this team with this manager is too good to go down. There are definitely 3 worse teams than us now. But we have to keep those key players fit.

Thought Begovic was superb throughout, took virtually every cross and made some great saves.

A good keeper is only as good as his defence allows him to be. Earlier in the season they weren’t putting enough pressure on attackers which let them pick their spot from a number of options. Now we are closing down properly, the options are fewer and it’s easier for the keeper to position himself.

Halfway up SAR it’s a sight to behold seeing every player understanding they’ve got a role to play in and out of possession.

Did we do a good throw in?

I'm not sure Mick, but I can't remember giving the ball straight back to Hull.

What an improvement!

The atmosphere around (Matrade) Loftus Road yesterday.
Russ Abbott would have loved it.

We even have the refs on our side now. Perhaps it’s an attitude change, they see we are trying to play rather than desperately seeking fouls or breaking up the other side.

Thought the ref was good yesterday. Tried to let the game flow, didn't give many cheap free kicks to either side, issued yellow cards for dissent to Hull, Dykes's yellow was after about 4/5 fouls which seemed about right. The big decision was the Hull penalty shout - close call but I think Cannon just about got a bit of the ball first.

I thought we looked a lot better in midfield with Colback out, he is just a card waiting to happen in every game he plays. Scrutinising yesterday, Field looks a little out of kilter with what is happening in the team but does the things he does best well enough to keep his place. Dozzell, once again, had a good game and was a defenders boot away from another goal yesterday but isn't the enforcer that Field is and that seems to count against him in a lot of peoples eyes. IMO he is far better suited to Marti's team and will be in competition with EB-D rather than Colback or Field.
There doesn't appear to be much comment about Smyth in this thread but at the game he looked like he was giving their full back a torrid time up until his withdrawal.

We played quite an attacking 4 2 3 1 yesterday as I saw it, confirmed in the report on the Official, with only Field and Dozzell in a midfield 2. Marti has been starting us in 4 3 3 often as at Preston 1st half with Colback plus Dozzell and Field. We just about managed that challenge yesterday due to our better finishing, getting players in their box, our decent defensive work and playing out from the back through their high press, even though we gave Hull more possesion of the ball. I won't be surprised to see us going back to a midfield 3 at the expense of one of the 4 more attacking players who started yesterday when Marti wants to ensure a solid start, particularly away at difficult opponents.

stats talk and 3 wins from 3 is great, 5 results from 6 is bloody good after such a dismal run of dire results and poor perfomances.
a new breath of fresh ideas ? has seen a monumental turnaround in belief in the team, fans and every one at the club. H is for HOPE

One angle on the stream showed it as a perfectly clean tackle.

No pen.

I think at one point Paal threw back to Begars who passed through to Cook, and then on for another touch. Surely the largest string we've had from a throw for ages :)

Saw this earlier today, thought he gave a very fair assessment of the game and that we played well and deserved it, also he likes our stadium which is good to hear from an away supporter.

I like Rosenior but he often gets het up with referees for little reason. Apartf rom the Clarke Salterfoul in the first minute that referee really didn't get a lot wrong in that game
