Anyone want to add what they saw as something/anything positive from yesterday's action?
We have plenty of negative threads so maybe we can use this to focus on any rays of light?
Mine were: New GK is going to give us real value for money, looks a better shot stopper than Dieng. His shoulders aren't made of dynamite like Archers so that's a solid plus too.
SDM looks like he wants to take any chance given to him, talent aside his attitude is a plus.
Armstrong loves a row when he comes on, will argue with anyone and I like that, it does smack of a slight lack of maturity but shows his intent and drive and will to want to win.
Dykes worked hard, think his legs were gone when he missed his chance.
Gubbins got a smack in the face and didn't do a Lumley. Impressed with how he persevered in tough circumstances.
Surprised we didn't see Adomah and the new LB, thought the game presented an opportunity for both to show up.

The only positives I can come up with is that, conceivably, the team that is starting by the end of Sept will be very different to this one. It's not unusual to start a season with an XI that by March you're thinking 'holy crap, how did we put THAT lot out and think it would work - for any club.
A team of:
Begovic
New RB Dunne JCS Fox
Field Colback Paal
Armstrong Dykes Chair
at least looks competitive.
That's all I've got.
JCS and Dunne will not be available for a good 6 weeks. These "calf stains" are potentially fatal and Dunne exposed his shoulder.
We have been proved out of Ainsworth 's targets as they are limited to old pros looking for a final payday or young players he knows. That's the knowledge of L1 he boasted about. If we had proper scouts, unaffordable solid defensive, but suspect passing CB should not be hard to find, yet...
I do not believe that we will sign anyone ahead of Saturday....
I sat through the game, now I'm sitting in Chateauneurf du Pape. Its 35 degrees, I'm drinking an ice cold one looking out on the Rhone Valley with not a care in the world.
And I wont be back to go to Cardiff thank God.

Ha! For a moment I had visions of you sitting in a vat of wine.

This team looks a lot better for Sat:
Begovic Kakay Cook Fox Paal Field Colback SDM Chair Dykes Armstrong
4312.
Or be very bold and play Willock instead of SDM and go 4231.
The only positive we can take atm as I said on another thread and the W12 podcast is that with Dunne, Colback and JCS (stop it) to come back, Cook in, probably another signing, at least a couple of loans, you'd think and hope that 7-8 of the starters on Saturday won't be starters in a month's time. That's what the whole thing hangs on ATM. That team on Saturday doesn't win a game.
