Don't want to play the sore loser card, but I didn't see an announcement from FIFA to say that kicking the ball away to waste time is a bookable offence unless you've just been booked for kneeing a player in the face - then it's punishable with a huge smile.

Shame we fell at the final hurdle. Spain were the only team I saw compete at the same level as the lionesses and I would argue even harder in the final (though we didn't lose from lack of effort). Their goal-scoring record was admirable. Tough one to take but I hope we can bounce back from it.


Obviously they "didn't want it enough", "show enough passion", or any of the other tired cliches that are trotted out every time the men lose.
