Whatever they called, anybody watching?
If so wake me up when something happens apart from players falling over & feigning injury (there an Italian shock)
Should be tasty after the final whistle though

Les' dad, no?

Bloody hell Sir, I salute you!

I've just checked & you are correct. I had no idea & had assumed that hardly any on the board would have heard of Alan Sealey!

Totally jealous
To win a final in Prague , what a night for them
Never in my life time am I going to follow Rangers in Europe,

If following Rangers in Europe was anything like Reykjavik 1984 then it's a shame we're not going to be with Rangers on a European adventure.
But if it was to be anything like the away leg against Partisan Belgrade I don't think you would want to follow Rangers in Europe!
SCARY OR WHAT!

Big up for Rice and co.- that scene with his little kid dancing like a maniac in front of the supporters will live long in the memory.
But was it really a "major trophy"?I remember watching the 1965 victory against Munich 1860 at Wemley with Alan Sealey getting a brace and a taste of what was to come in the following year with Bobby Moore clambering up the steps to get the jug.

Poll: Dykes - love him or hate him?

I would put it on a par with the League Cup rather than whatever the League 1 & 2 clubs play for & comparable to the old Cup Winners Cup as I always rated the UEFA Cup as higher.

One big positive is it does seem to be waking Premier League fans up to what I've been writing on here forever and ever - football is about cup runs, finals, medals, following your team in Europe. It is not, or should not, be about dumping out of every cup at the first possible opportunity and seeing Europe as some enormous inconvenience to the real quiz of securing 17th place in the Premier League and getting your squad off to Mykonos.

Totally agree Clive.

Unfortunately, Championship clubs (not fans) seem to be struggling to get the message!

Moyes said himself after the game that what was an otherwise disappointing (PL) season has been completely turned to being a 'super season'.

That's what a cup win does.

In years to come West Ham fans won't be thinking of 2023 and finishing 14th and 6 points off relegation but of the ECL cup win.

If we somehow won a cup, especially a good one, I'd take relegation and would still be happy.

And yet you've got c*nts like Ashley Cole who won the FA Cup like a billion times.

Football is shit.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

I look at it like this. The Champions league is like winning the Premiership, the Europa league is like winning the championship and the Europa Conference is like winning league 1. Each tournament is a step down in quality. The creation of the conference tournament gives clubs who finish further down their leagues the chance to win a European trophy. In theory English clubs who get greater financial rewards from Sky/Premiership should be the favourites to win the Europa Conference.

Good luck to 'em. Last nights pictures from upton park, plaistow, stratford etc evoked many memoriIes... i've had so many calls /texts today from mates , who like me, were taken to the west ham cup parade of 1980 by their dads who are no longer with us.

East Ham dave took me out in his ford anglia tooting his horn like Blue oyster cults cowbell for the parade.

Anyway; Wyndham Road , east Ham 1975 cup final day. The East end.. like tears in Rain

I went to watch the game in Hackney with my brother in-law. Fantastic atmosphere among the West Ham fans. I was really pleased they won and was very happy for them. The emotion was real and you could tell it meant a lot to them. No sense of entitlement just pride in the club. It’s what football is about.

If I’m being honest it did make me reflect on the state of QPR, such a contrast to our fortunes. Really brought home how badly we messed up the last few seasons in the PL. Sounds cheesy but I’d love us to win a cup so I could take my daughter to the parade. Those are moments that go down in history and cement football legacy in a family.
