I loved Diakité with every last fibre of my being. He was pure box office - never a dull second when he was on the pitch. If he wasn't killing entire opposition squads to death, he was marauding about the place with a surprisingly sure touch and of course his shorts rolled up at a jaunty angle.

When he first arrived I thought we had the next Patrick Viera on our books but he certainly had both flair and a serious discipline problem. Overall, I liked him. |  |
