Viera, McBurnie, Sharp Pitch Invaders 06:12 - May 20 with 24780 viewsdavman

Jeez, the football world is f-d up again. There are laws in place for encroaching on the field of play and what happened this week explains exactly why.

Sharp had no time to react to the high vis fat cannonball attacker, who has rightly been convicted and no doubt Viera and McBurnie will get some form of punishment. But Viera and McB's "victims" will get off Scott free even though they are law breakers by just being there. Getting on the pitch is one thing, but if you act like a massive weapon when you are on there, you should have every legal order thrown at you.

Loads of people think it's just an innocent laugh pitch invading, but I'd imagine that, with the percentage of idiots that live amongst us, it is probably really frightening for both sets of players and staff. After all, no pitch invasion, no provocation and no punishment for Viera and Mr. Completescotsname.

I hope they chuck the book at Forest and Everton and threaten them with a behind closed doors game for letting that happen. Disgraceful.

Can we go out yet?

Port Vale last night, first time at Wembley in nearly 30 years - first reaction, straight to the Swindon players to goad them and start picking fights. All filmed on their phones for social media mega bantz.

I don’t doubt that any fans from all 92 league clubs would invade the pitch in the same situation, and I’ve also no doubt that there would be idiots treating opposition players and fans wrongly. We even had a mini pitch invasion against Sheffield Utd because some think that it’s their right to act like idiots at football.
It used to be mainly good natured celebrations, but it’s all turned nastier this season.Maybe there is a lot of pent up anger in the general public these days, which only comes out when you’re with 100’s of your mates running around behaving like idiots?

I wish they knew how to stop it happening so often, but someone is going to get seriously injured any time soon if it continues.

Pitch invasion = next game behind closed doors. Would happen two or three times and then people would get the message, and they'd get it because their own fans would belt them if they didn't.

Good in theory but it might lead to punch ups in the stands between invaders and non invaders.Maybe some sort of boundary rope held up by stewards at the end of games might work?Thats what they did at te end of the Sheffield Utd game at our place. You’d still get a few idiots on the pitch but maybe not as many.

I can see them bringing back fences for these end of season games, maybe plastic sheets like at ice hockey. People nowadays think they can act like this and face no consequence. The fella starting on Mike Tyson the other month and then getting a slap was one time the famous person hit back, now Viera, I don't blame them at all

Well that's what it's going to need. Stewards on £8 an hour aren't going to do anything and frankly I don't blame them for that - as Hoos has said we're struggling to steward games as it is. You'll never get enough police to stop it. The only way is if you bring in things like points deductions and behind closed doors games which will keep the majority off, and they'll police the minority themselves. Frankly if a few people who think it's their right to charge the field and start on opposition players end up getting a smack that's not the worst thing in the world.

Big difference between a pitch invasion, and a pitch invasion + assault.

Player strike action on grounds of safety would be a better tactic.

I recently asked a friend if he was with those who invaded the pitch for the Bristol Rovers 7-0 win, and that was before full-time. He replied he did not and:

"Told a police officer that they should be allowed to spray the tw*ts with machine guns.
She laughed and said that was maybe a BIT HARSH."

I was at the Northampton v Mansfield play off game at Sixfields on Wednesday, two guys stormed pitch late on and let off flares and one went to have a go at a Mansfield player. All this stuff is unacceptable and damaging the enjoyment for football fans. Football pitches are for players, the stands are for supporters it is a simple proposition. The football authorities and clubs are going to have to find a solution to this, it is bringing the game into disripiute again like in the late 70s and 80s.

All across football in the British Isles it should be made law that if your clubs fans invade the pitch then the following season your club will start the season minus 21 points, no Ifs or buts about it, none of this X amount of points suspended the whole goddam 21 points deducted.

Whoever runs football nowadays get on with It, stop talking shyte about it just do something about it, yes that's right actually do something.

This is a very big problem, points deductions and games played behind closed doors may bring opposition fans to your ground with the sole purpose of running on to the pitch to deliberately make your team incur a penalty.

As elsewhere stated it is not legal to enter the field of play, this is trespass.
A solution might be to ask for more police for end of season games or specials and catch as many invaders as you can, hit them with hefty fines and a ten year ban and in the case of assault a jail term.

If the pitch invaders get hurt in confrontations with players, legitimate staff or managers, tough fuxxing luck you should not be there.

These end of season pitch invasions always seem a bit two Bob imo
When you score a last minute goal away like Brentford, Port vale, and Grimsby then they are as cool as fcuk

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Something must be done otherwise everyone will be sitting behind fences in future.

I actually thought the rope at HQ worked quite well in the end but this is getting out of hand.
Behind closed doors is a great idea but the FA would have to stick to it and I guess it would depend on number of invaders.
European style nets is the only thing I can see properly working at the moment. But people would climb up them anyway...

That's what I posted on the Forest/Blades thread. It's only going one way if this fúckwittery continues. Personally I think if you invade the pitch and go on looking for trouble especially with the players, you're fair game and if you get twátted then you deserve everything you get.

Poll: Which is the worst QPR team?

The whole country has become one angry shit-hole over the past 5 yrs - do not forget the maniacs at the Euro Final last year. They are everywhere.
For me it's simple:
1. No away fans at any play-off games.
2. Clubs should be forced to replace £8 stewards with security personnel that can contain this shit. Go to any major music festival and you will see how to steward large crowds. Expensive but mandate it.
3. Any encroachment on the pitch results in a £1M fine, next 10 home games behind closed doors and a 12 point deduction.

I know it's a big achievement for the club but if they are meant to be condemning this:-

It sends out the wrong message when the manager and staff then celebrate with the fans still on the pitch.

problem with that is away fans haven't been the problem in the games this week, been all the home fans going on

It should be easy enough to tell if it's home or away fans running on the pitch

No I think he means, hypothetically, QPR fans could get tickets to a chelsea game, run on the pitch, and fck them over for a behind closed doors game. At least that's how I read it.

Viera, McBurnie, Sharp Pitch Invaders on 10:07 - May 20 with 7226 viewsMrSheen

It is impossible for clubs to stop ANYONE getting on the pitch, whether the drunk, the stupid, or publicity-seekers attracted by the media attention on football (streakers, oil protestors, social media "personalities" etc). What's needed is a measurable, simple set of penalties - which WILL be enforced - that don't put clubs at risk of sabotage but give an incentive to them and their fans to discourage mass invasions, with all the risk of escalation that follows.
More than 10 people on the field - 2 points deducted (that season or the next, according to which is more significant) or one year exclusion from that cup competition.
More than 25 - 4 points/2 years
More than 50 - 6 points/3 years
The larger the group, the harder it would be to conceal true club allegiance given social media activity, so no undercover sabotage. If that then exposes the invaders to being sued for loss of revenue by the club, so much the better.
If pitch celebrations are part of the "fabric of the cup", let them happen when the opposition has left the pitch and their fans the stands.
