As far as I understood Phil chose to move.
The owner here was disappointed, but wished him well and was happy to let him post all about the move on here, so no falling out. But this site with all its data also kept open.
The ex mods were allowed to keep their IDs on here, but on certain conditions (and presumably without mod privileges). I think one condition was not to push people to move who were still using this site. Seemingly why Darran banned.
The only thing I read into commercial issues was to do with profits from the sites?
Not sure on the new site, too busy as soon as you go on there. Early days but I just get that feel it won't be as busy as it was on here in its busy times.

You need to search for planet swans and then bookmark it again, you'll be able to login after that, if you want to of course. ;)

The biggest shame is that it’s fragmented the community, I seem to be checking both sites now.
The football forum over there is fine, the non-football forum is the same as this one has always been. It’s been pretty poor on here the last few months too. I just don’t tend to read it...that works.

I see nothing much there to bother with. Someone posted that this site has become an echo chamber for the right wingers but looking on there, it looks like that site is an echo chamber for the loony left.
We must need another new forum for the centrists among us! Then we can all have our own little echo chambers and laugh at the fools on other forums!
