Football fix 19:45 - Mar 15 with 3999 viewsqprd

Since we're all football deprived, now is not a bad time to go into the back catalog

if everyone could chip in with one QPR-related video and non-QPR one

Here's my two. The non-QPR one may is arguably pornography, so please dont watch on your work computers

I enjoyed that. But would you ask him to take a penalty in a World Cup final?

I watched Alanyaspor v Gaziatepspor on Turkish telly yesterday (thanks to my TV box). Only goal scored by Steven Caulker. Thats football deprived.

This is becoming my fave Rangers goal ever:

There are no skills in the world to compensate for the squalor of playing for Juve.

Baguio such an under-rated player.
Destined to be remembered mainly for missing that penalty sadly but he should be remembered as the real star of Italia 90.
Amongst all the heartbreak about Gazza’s tears and Pearce / Waddle’s missed pens people forget about the other semi final which also had a very disappointing outcome. A skilful quick-passing Italian side knocked out on pens by a dirty cynical Argentina with Diego a long long way off his majestic standard of Mexico 86. Baggio came on as sub in that match and got kicked all over the park.
Probably wouldn’t look that bad by today’s standards but I remember thinking that the Argentinian team took fouling and harassing the ref to a new level in that tournament (soon to be adopted by Fergie’s United)
They had a man sent off and I think half the team booked back in the days when you had to REALLY foul someone to get a yellow.

Should’ve been Italy in the final that year, possibly against England too, who knows how that might’ve turned out.

Marco Tardelli. 1982 world cup final.

The raw primeval emotion in his goal celebration transcends the paltry dimensions of time and space.

Does me in everytime i watch it.

The Duke Of New York. A-Number One.

Ha, get a load of the Spanish police there, they love a bit of argy bargy.

That 108 year old bloke was the Italian president Sandro Pertini! He was a sprightly 85 at the time.

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

Don't remind me, I can still remember the thrill of seeing that in the Standard. I'm still gutted that it never happened.
We nearly signed another Italian midfielder around then. I saw Massimo Mauro play a pre-season friendly away at Brentford and he looked class. We were desperate for a replacement for the aging Super Ray Wilkins at the time and Mauro looked very much like he could fill that role. But his club (Napoli I think?) wanted too much money for him and we didn't sign him. I think we got Steve Hodge instead who didn't turn out to be much cop.

I'll go to the grave happy to have watched a lot of him in his glory years, with other great strikers like Montella and Cassano alongside. I just missed the Tottigol-Batigol years :(
