Nakhi Wells on 21:26 - Apr 27 by enfieldargh | Meanwhile Oteh who would have done no worse has been sitting on Walsall's bench. He could have had half a dozen games under his belt here |
Why do you think he is sitting on the bench for a lower league team? Same reason Shopido could only get 6 games at Colchester and Port Vale. Our youngsters are not as good as we think. I mean in the end today Furlong completely ignored Shopido.
Nakhi Wells on 22:42 - Apr 27 with 2387 views | ridethewave | That performance from Wells today was a disgrace. Two shots where he looked as if he was trying to kick it out the park, and that penalty was once again a total embarrassment. I didn’t feel sorry for him after the first penalty miss - he cost us one of the great ever game experiences - and I don’t feel sorry for him now. Glad to see the back of him this season. And yes, despite many arguing with this after the last miss, the money he’s on is relevant, especially at a cash-strapped club like ours. He is paid more in a week than most who buy tickets earn in a year. He is paid that money to do noting else but kick a ball into a goal. He has now failed to do that twice, with a free kick on goal, only 12 yards out, twice costing us points. And who in the hell decided to let him take it?! Is our penalty taker not designated by the manager before the game?! If so, why was Wells our designated penalty taker?! And if not, why not? I can’t work out why we’re still playing loan players who we know won’t be here next season.
Nakhi Wells on 23:05 - Apr 27 with 2301 views | corse | I must say that i expected much more from Wells. Hemed was a strange loan. But think about next season. Eze, Chair, Oteh, Smyth, Smith. Thats about 4 goals between them. Plus the occasional goals from midfield and defenfers. We could be tracking a new record here. Well done uncle Tony and those responsible. Well done... Thumbs up and forward...
Nakhi Wells on 23:55 - Apr 27 with 2242 views | BlackCrowe | Bizarre what's happened to Wells. Looked the real deal in the first half the season, a natural striker, pacey and threatening. Now looks 2nd rate at best.

Nakhi Wells on 07:12 - Apr 28 with 2041 views | jonno | The penalty taker question was what I was asking. Surely, you have a designated penalty taker when you start the game. So why does a substitute end up taking the penalty - unless the original designated spot kick taker has been taken off?
Nakhi Wells on 08:41 - Apr 28 with 1942 views | QPROslo | The original penalty taker was probably Hemed who has scored pens for us this season, and he had been substituted.

Dont agree re Oteh or Shodipo for that matter. Shodipo has been cursed by injuries so game time for him has been limited. Whenever I've seen him play for the 1st team he's not looked out of place. As for Oteh his scoring record in U23 is pretty good, better than Walker's plus he takes penalties and often converts them(Leeds home FA Cup) Wells has offered SFA in the last 3 games, Oteh would not have been any worse.

Oteh has taken 8 penalties this season and scored 7 (u23s /first team /Walsall).

Manning has that ray Stewart technique of just smashing it
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Its Shodipo not Shopido. He got injured while on loan at Colchester over a year ago and missed about 9 months of football only returning in January this year.
Nakhi Wells on 22:25 - Apr 28 with 1199 views | bosh67 | After Wells's last miss I asked why he takes them with his right foot. Someone came back and said he's right footed. But he's scored every goal I can remember with his left. So why doesn't he take penalties with his left foot? Or obviously leave it to Manning..

Nakhi Wells on 07:38 - Apr 29 with 997 views | Lblock | Wells never recovered from that miss v Brum in the last minute in my opinion Form dipped horribly after that I think he’s a good player in a poor team and a chaotic club. Certainly got a bit greedy at the end of his tenure with some odd choices to shoot We won’t see him again unless it’s scoring against us, the irony there will be a penalty next season no doubt Thanks for the nine goals but should’ve done better
