New store going in old BHS shop. on 19:32 - Nov 10 by exhmrc1
Furniture and garden goods would be better for the city then more clothes or mobile phone shops. It will be very interesting to see how this works out. Certainly some of the wooden furniture on the website looks interesting. It will certainly add variety to what is already there.
The problem with the BHS store is it is too big for the standard shops and too small for a major store.
Perfect size for John Lewis Home.

Loved living in Swansea City center (well very near the center) for 21 months, sadly had to move a few miles out to be able to afford a small house myself. Swansea is a lovely (and slightly ugly place, apparently) City to live in, the people are warm and unless you really want to look for trouble, you really won't find it. Swansea has so very much going for it and despite some difficult social issues and some poor thinking by the City Council at times it really does have all you need to survive and much, much more. Just because our team seems to be pathetic right now, please don't diss the people and the place. Sometimes it's difficult to see the positives when you're feeling down and the home that you love is struggling to find its identity what with the new developments and the wreckage that still remains from the "good old days". Swansea is still a beautiful place and has sooo so much going for it.

It is shocking. If I was 20 years younger and no skeletors :) in my closet I would be running for office.

You know someone from Aberdare who would prefer to shop in Swansea than Cardiff ?
For all my Bassey hatred I can’t imagine anyone making that choice unless of course they are either scruffy or dull.
I know quite a lot of people who come down from Aberdare to shop as it is more convenient for them. 30 mins in the car as opposed to an hour-long train journey to Cardiff.

Without any doubt people from Swansea are a class above those from Cardiff.
Cardiffians have an air of arrogance about them (Cockney like) where Swansea people are generally very friendly .....
My main issue is how the Welsh assembly pump smoney into Cardiff & not into Swansea (& other parts of Wales)
On a side note a poster mentioned Carwyn was a Swansea boy thought he was Bridgend born & bred.

born in Swansea 21 March 1967. I think he moved to Bridgend as a child but his family are from the Swansea area believe it is Clydach. Rhodri Morgan also had Clydach roots. Born in Swansea, he was raised in Bridgend in a Welsh-speaking family. He was a pupil at Brynteg Comprehensive School in Bridgend. ten years in practice at Gower Chambers, Swansea. This is the reason he is from a welsh speaking family.
