Anybody whose going to Wembley on thursday for England *MUST READ* 08:48 - Oct 3 with 3157 views | makaveli1882 | NO Chiltern trains stopping at Wembley after 16.00, both sides and no trains after the game. Thursday 5th October 2017: There is a sporting event at Wembley Stadium - England vs Slovenia (19.45 KO). An amended timetable will operate during the afternoon and evening. Additionally, please note the following planned changes to evening peak services: It is unfortunately not possible for us to provide a train service for those travelling to Wembley for the England v Slovenia football match. Strike action is planned on London Underground services on 5th October. Chiltern is not involved in this action, however, for safety reasons, we will not be stopping any trains at Wembley Stadium station on 5th October after 1600 until the end of service. Trains are expected to be busier than usual and the large volumes of Wembley traffic in addition to this would be unsustainable from a safety perspective. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. There's free parking round the back of Bushey station too. Edit- just a had a look and these are at 6.26, 6.46 etc. 19 mins from Bushey to Wembley and about a 15 min walk from there depending on where you're sat. If you park around Kingsfield Road it's free and there's an alley which take you on a two minute walk to the back of Bushey station. I don't live there any more so do your worst. One of the stewarding companies is providing coaches for their staff to get there and back home. I imagine other companies will do the same.

Will not stop where, at Wembley Central? It's not the worst walk in the world from North Wembley or come to that Stonebridge Park.

Chiltern Railways come into London via Wembley Stadium so if they're not stopping there the next stop is London Marylebone. Coming out of London the next stop after Wembley Stadium is Sudbury Hill Harrow.... Wouldn't fancy the walk to Wembley from either of those.... [Post edited 3 Oct 2017 15:09]

On Match days some services stop additionally at Northolt Park, but reading the missive from Chiltern it seems that they've decided that they are anticipating heavier footfall than normal due to the Tube strike that that option will be removed as well. Just glad that I didn't take up the FA's "buy a ticket for a tenner" offer. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Those slow trains are a ballache though. The London Midland service is quite punctual and generally good by UK train standards.
