Apparently a lot of Gooner season ticket holders under investigation for supplying tickets to Germans.
Wasnt all good natured either, a lot of them anti English stealing seats from families, one bloke lost his six year old daughter for half an hour in the mayhem. Sounds like a monumental fcukup from Arsenal.
I like it when people in one country decide they're going to make up their own names for places in another. The French call Mainz Mayence, we call Venezia Venice, but the Germans call it Venedig. The Spanish call Stockholm Estocolmo.
The English on the whole, a polite race, call Luton, Luton. Every other nation uses some reference to excrement to name it!
Irony being what it is, I too was at that game and my father and I were sat next to a German in the SAR Stand. Clearly they've got form for this, as he was not the only one around us either!
Clearly Arsenal hadn't learned the lesson from our game against Cologne - and don't give me, that was 40 years ago crap either!
There weren't that many Gerry at the game, not in the School End anyway, unless my thoughts are more befuddled than usual.
Amazing story and what support. Fair play to them. Remember the EUFA Cup away tie in 1977. We actually led 4-0 on aggregate before winning on away goals. Don Masson scored in Germany.
Interesting to compare and contrast the usual suspects in sports media's hand wringing over this compared to when Leicester went on the rampage in Madrid
