We beat Everton we stay up on 15:44 - Apr 30 with 5330 views | rock1n | That would take us to 35 id fancy us to win another and maybe a point 39 points with potentially better goal difference that would be enough I think

Put it this way if we got relegated on 39 points that would be really harsh The other possibility is we get 9 points and finish with 41 that would definitively be enough

The point I'm making as you allude to is that it's in our hands. I would have snapped your hands off with the turn of events at Christmas

If we win the next three we have 41 points. If one of : Leicester Stoke Watford Burnley West Ham Crystal Palace Hull lose all their games we stay up - not over by any means

Not getting this at all. I do admire the positivity but we have to remian realistic. If we beat Everton then we may well br in exactly the same position as we are now. Hull could quite easily beat Sunderland. Even if we do drag ourselves out of the zone with a win, there is still a huge amount if work to do. It is the opposite of being in our own hands by the very definition of the fact we need others to drop points in order for us to go above them. If they win their remaining 3 then they survive, if we accept its possible for us to do it, then so can they.

indeed - warra turnaround - and we're playing intelligently with positive intent - PC took the game to Utd - his subs were deeply and cleverly considered to counter Utd's counter tactics COYS

Technically, maybe not. But realistically 41 pts will keep us up I'd imagine.

Spot on We are heavily relying on Hull to slip up wether we beat Everton or not. Hull save a pen in dying minutes yesterday and swans get robbed today and that Llorente last minute miss. These things go against us is what's making us see the reality of what is going on. Next week we need hull to lose and then we have the later kick off. Only then can we start talking like this.

That's not sustainable - I think Man City will beat them then there's a massive game against hull and id back united if it's to get into top 4 It conceivable palace could lose all 3 [Post edited 30 Apr 2017 16:19]

By needing someone else to drop points - it means it is not in our own hands. They are 6 points ahead of us with better GD (so essentially 7 points ahead) with 3 games left a surely you can see that saying its in our own hands is extremely nonsensical?? Hull are unbeaten at home since boxing day, their manager hasnt lost at home in 3 years, 2 points ahead of us with some winnable games ahead and you say if we win our next game then we are safe?? I think this whole attitude is extremely dangerous to have. I understand you are trying to be positive but this level of blind optimism being passed off as realism when its as far away from realism as you can get could be damaging if it catches on. We are in one hell of a scrap and even winning 2 of 3 would only give us a coin flip chance of surviving.

But Palace are already on 38 points. If Hull win all their games and so do we, Palace need to pick up 1 win in the other 2 games to be safe. Their goal difference is far superior to both. The way Palace are playing they coukd quite easily pick up a win.

I look at history in this situations someone always implodes - 41 points would be a monster target to survive, 39 is high as well
