The Official Swansea City Versus West Ham United Premier League Match Day Thread on 16:51 - Dec 26 by SwansNZ | We were a far far superior team under Guido. |
This. We started to play some good football against some of the best teams in the League in the latter days of Guido, very much on the up. Now we just get worse. I fear for us when we play the top teams again with Bob at the helm.

We were better. Still sh*t and not getting the results, but less likely to completely collapse. So there was something to build on, whereas I don't see how we can rescue it from here unless there's major surgery.

We need someone who can build a team over the next two transfer windows to build a competitive squad for next year. Oh, and it's 3-0 |
Many of our players aren't good enough for the championship either. How many would get into the Brighton, Newcastle, Sheffield Wednesday or Leeds side do you think? Some of them would struggle to make Rotherham's starting XI And Bob Bradley isn't good enough for League One

We've got two centrebacks on the books who were objectively better than Bartley when all three were here, so I'm sure many of our players would look fine in the current Leeds side under a decent manager who knows what he's doing (as long as he doesn't need a plan b).

I totally agree. It's what I meant by building a squad. I didn't mean using the current team though I could have put it better. We need personnel who are hungry for promotion next year. The Championship will be a come down for many of our squad now so the motivation is unlikely to be there. Recruitment now and in the summer especially, should be looking at good, young championship players with potential. How we find them I don't know but that's our scouting departments job. Easier said than done I know but don't expect the Llorente's or Naughton's or Cork's of this world to get us back up. Their heart won't be in it.

Vociferous over in the East during the second half. Certainly the worst I've seen it.

The Official Swansea City Versus West Ham United Premier League Match Day Thread on 19:11 - Dec 26 with 2162 views | jackrabbit | Who scouts and recommends players to be acquired for the Club? Leadbetter is a name I have heard mentioned. Whoever agreed to pay £15m for Baston must have been on drugs. This is a poor team with poor players, but he in particular, looks decidedly average - no pace, no ball control and no goal-seeking instinct.. Appalling purchase. I'm more disgusted with the ability of our players to do the basics - tackle, pass and score goals, than I am at the inability of our hapless manager to forge any sort of quality performance from this shower. In fact I am impressed by his post-match interviews where he comes across as perceptive, dignified and honourable. He won't duck responsibility, but it ain't all his fault. Fingers can be pointed in several directions.

Give us a proper manager, give us two competent defenders, give the best of the under 23s a chance. Move Sigurdsson back to play everything through him and get Fer behind Llorente. Choose life. Bastion spent most of his time chasing the ball back in our our half covering at left back. Our forwards have zero service . Our clueless manager has not picked a consistent side ...this is a problem he needs to decisive on an eleven and continue to work with them so partnerships and relating is on the pitch can develop leading to understanding and a pattern of play. That was Why we used to be so successful with a squad of less "quality" than we Now have when we first came into the PL

I believe BB's appointment was part of a strategy to generate greater interest in the Swans on the other side of the pond. Increased interest and success would potentially increase commercial opportunities which in turn would fuel a growth in revenue etc etc. This appears to be reflected in some of the Swansea Forums which have already seen an increase in American contributors since BB arrived. If things carry on as they are,it's a cert that Swansea will be in the Championship next season. The squad FG and BB have been working with is in my opinion the poorest for a number of seasons. FG took a lot of stick at the start of the season, but I think he was dong a reasonable job all things considered. If I were K & L, I would be taking a really good look at how Southampton do things, they appear to have a good scouting system and an excellent academy.
