Las Vegas 16:40 - May 8 with 6619 views | dubaistu | As most of you are a fountain of knowledge, what would be your top 10 things to do, places to see etc in Vegas? I already know about the broads, strippers, class A's and gambling (that will be my hotel room), but what should I do when I make it out of the hotel? With the Mrs celebrating the big 4-0. Thanks in advance

This ^ Get the one that touches down... It costs more but you really get an appreciation of the scale of the canyon which you don't appreciate as much from the sky. As for the rest of Vegas I can pretty much leave it... I'm not a gambler and most of it is tacky on steroids

Las Vegas on 17:52 - May 8 with 6511 views | eghamranger | We went there and did most of the touristy things, helicopter rides and hotel visits. We had a meal at the trump hotel, it's a non gambling hotel, there was 7 of us and we had our own room, silver service meal, personal waiter and it worked out about $25 each. Food was spot on and it was fantastic value for money.
Las Vegas on 18:34 - May 8 with 6459 views | Arx | I agree with all the Canyon recommendations and to add to that I'd recommend Fremont Street (the original Vegas strip).

I did a charity trek for a week 2 years ago in the Havasupai reservation at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. What a fantastic place to camp in and to visit. We did see loads of helicopters flying in and out during the week, but it was better walking up and down if you have the time. We stayed 1 night in Vegas and I didn't think much of it to be honest. We flew from Vegas to Houston and we passed directly over the Hoover dam. What a great view from the plane windows. Enjoy it whatever you decide to do with your time there.Remember that prostitution is illegal in Nevada.
Las Vegas on 19:31 - May 8 with 6398 views | vegasranger | Take a trip out to Red Rock Canyon. Go to my mate Martin's gastro pub called " The Smashed Pig ". It's Downtown on Fremont Street. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Las Vegas on 22:08 - May 8 with 6213 views | Keith56 | Just come back from LV as my wife and I celebrated our 60ths with our daughters and their boy friends- all in their 20s We went 15 years ago and were told we would hate it because it is tacky Well we loved it then and this time too Something for everyone Fremont St most definitely? Have a look at the Mob Museum We all thought it was brilliant chronicling the history of the mafia in US The Park on Fremont bar was rated by all of us The Stratosphere Tower with its revolving restaurant. We gave the dropping bit a miss because of the queue. We went at night time for a drink there to see Vegas all lit up. A client recommended The Neon Museum but we didn't get there Most definitely take a trip to the Grand Canyon. Breathtaking. The Hoover Dam too - consider when it was built and what they achieved as a man made structure See a show - cirque Du Soleil The Dream at The Wynn is considered the best Otherwise just enjoy being big kids by going in and out of the hotels We all loved our holiday . I hope this helps and you have a wonderful time Keith
Las Vegas on 22:45 - May 8 with 6192 views | PlanetHonneywood | I first went in the early 90s and felt that was enough. Subsequent visits have been because I've been in the manor and after three days, I'm done! Deffo anything to do with the Grand Canyon and I will say this, you won't go hungry and there are some really top-top restaurants there. Now I am not one for faux Irish bars, especially in the US. However, on three occasions over the years, I have had absolutely blinding nights at Nine Fine Irishmen in New York, New York. Oh and if you are there all week, do try the veal!

Las Vegas on 05:28 - May 9 with 6114 views | qpr1976 | Get married (renew vows) by Elvis at the Little White Wedding Chapel then pop next door to get divorced / annulled. If that doesn't go down well, over the road is the 'home of the $5 lap dance' and relive your stag do ! Crazy place - Enjoy. Duelling Pianos a good bar in New York, New York if still there.
Las Vegas on 16:09 - May 9 with 5979 views | marky67 | i too would say visit the grand canyon and the mob museum and if your in downtown vegas if your feeling brave enough try a horizontal zip wire along freemont street. not sure if it is still on but a show i saw when i was there last september was million dollar quartet which was on at harrahs hotel. it`s the story of for one night only elvis, johnny cash, jerry lee lewis and carl perkins being in the same recording studio, really good show.
Las Vegas on 16:32 - May 9 with 5961 views | Kingstan | Lived in LV for 12 years! I would recommend : Red Rock and scramble up it, Mt. Charleston, Valley of fire (awesome), Death Valley and a night at Scotty's Castle (inspirational) and an overnight trek down the Canyon (only need a seeping bag) can take a donkey ride back up if your keen! Also worth a try are the outdoor jacuzzis but at night (soak, look up at the night sky and count the shooting stars). Have fun.

Las Vegas on 16:47 - May 9 with 5938 views | Pigbag | It's worth casino hopping, just to see all the different ones. You'll have your favorites. I stayed at The Mirage which was dated but a laugh. Best one for drinks & atmosphere was The Cosmopolitan for me. I loved Freemont street, it's obviously the original Vegas and you still get the feel of that. Food - Le Thai, down freemont street was one of the most authentic Thai's I've ever eaten, which surprised me. The Old Homestead steakhouse inside Caesar's Palace was one of the best restaurants iv'e ever been to, expensive but fantastic. For a quick burger then In&Out Burger is a must. Heard the neon sign museum is good too. Have a good'en!

I wouldn't go near a donkey ride up from the Canyon unless you are used to riding. One of our party did it and they couldn't walk for a while afterwards.
