So dedicated to his own agenda that he refuses to pick any Ferdinand signings. Would rather play no strikers and Petrasso than JET, Luongo, Chery or others.

Have him for 6 months? I hope he doesn't last 6 days - regardless of today's result.

Simmo, I really rate Luongo and I would have liked to see him in the starting line up but who would you have left out ?

Strong and stable my arse.

Yep. A political selection.

I'd say the second half was probably the best half of football i've seen from qpr for 2 maybe 3 seasons.

...and we get this unbelieveable "political selection" comment

seriously, are you Les Ferdinand? ....come on Les, own up

Got to say, Grim, how many games have you been to? I know we've been dire in that time, but come on. It was a decent performance against a truly dreadful side, and that's it. Kudos to all - worked hard etc. But the best for 2 or 3 seasons?

but I do disagree with simmo. I don't think it was an anti-Les thing - 3 of the back 4 were Les signings for a start. JET, if not injured, should probably have started and I'd always start Luongo, but different people have different views - as me and Grim clearly do about today's display!

Bare bones.

He / she doesn't like Les Ferdinand very much so I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Fair point, Grim,

I'm not a Ferdinand man or a Warnock man. I'm a Rangers fan. And I also have already accepted people's views that today was good. Delighted. My post might have been hasty.

But I know Simmo, and I like and respect him. I know, as others have mentioned, what he was getting at and I'm still not ruling it out. Warnock is a cute hoor and not above making a point in his team selections if it helps his end game of getting a new striker or (in this case) a new contract.

If I was wrong today, I fully accept it. But let's not be naïve - Warnock is well capable of playing politics. He's nobody's fool.

And so is Ferdinand Brian, its the nature of the business as he proved when coming in specifically to undermine our previous manager.
Ferdinand is an absolute legend at QPR but i wouldn't have him up on such an innocent pedestal.
Its a cut throat business and the reality is they're all in it for them selves.

I'm not naïve about Ferdinand either.

It's a completely separate point, but what did he do to undermine Redknapp? I thought that Rangers were looking for a DoF for some time and that he took the job. Should he have turned it down?

No of course not, alternatively you could say the same about NWs recent arrival at the club.
They were looking for an experienced man to come in and help an inexperienced fella who clearly wasn't up to the job.
What was he meant to do turn it down?
Whats the difference?
As i said they're both in it for them selves.

I called him a crook. Not hiding it just didn't want Clive to cop it because of the story that went with it that I can't prove.

Gave me a lot of joy that season, crooked or not. And for that I like him. Not that I particularly give a shit what you think.

Simmo's an excellent poster on here, always has interesting things to say about the club.
I dont think it was a stupid post ,the team selection was a bit odd at first glance but paid off in the end.
The club looks unstable again despite a good win and performance today. Warnock has played a part in unsettling things at QPR for his own agenda. Whether that turns out to be a good thing for the club long term remains to be seen.

I think it was a fairly "stupid OP", TBH. The selection was terrible, but to say he was picking players based on an agenda is fairly off really. Of course he has an agenda -- he wants o do well and thinks he knows how to.

Having said that, the initial team selection was horrendous and we only became viable as a team when he brought on a striker.

We started the game with three fullbacks and three wingers and no striker. That makes no sense and the team was playing like a team that made no sense. There was no chance we were going to score before Austin came on and Yun was completely lost as a third fullback/fourth winger. It was madness.

All JET has done since joining the club has been to score 3 in 5 senior games plus scoring at other levels too. To leave him and Poulter off the bench is crazy and to start without either is virtually suicidal. Our performance in the first half was dreadful. I don't think we had a decent shot until Austin and Chery came on. Phillips was so grateful to get back to the wing, where he nows what to do. Pretending that he is a striker is nutty.

So you think Warnock is in it for himself?
I think the point is Ferdinand and Ramsey came in when QPR were getting tonked in the prem yet again and heading for relegation. Ferdinand could see what most of us fans could see ,why we were repeatedly failing and tried to address that. He knew it would require a lot of work and patients and fair play to both him and Ramsey for trying.
Its very easy for Warnock to come to a club where the owners have pots of money and no direction plus relative novices in TF/ CR trying to do the best for the club.
He's a wily old geezer and been in the game a very long time. Fair Play to him if he turns results round, which incidentally wasn't too bad anyway. But he's somehow got his foot in the door at a club where he probably felt hard done by after his sacking and his motives do not seem as beneficial to the club long term as Ferdinands .
Ferdinand has been around the club for 3 decades, Warnock has had one and a half good seasons here.
I love Warnock for what he achieved here but i'm not happy with how he's gone about his business recently. We're an unsettled club once again, with no long term manager in place.

No-one's getting too hysterical here, we're just mentioning the fact that there are wants, desires, egos and careers at stake. It has always been the case in Rangers and in football. Gregory and Venables were completely ambitious but they did ok by Rangers.

IF TF was a natural leader would he not have tried knocking both heads together to see if that worked instead? Caught the result late this evening after a marvellous weekend away fully expecting us to capitulate, and having won as always we're scrapping amongst ourselves, much like NW and Sir Les.

All managers/dofs are in it for themselves hence the reason they soon seek out employment elsewhere when sacked.
Ferdinand and Ramsey had their hearts in the right place but so have many others who have failed before them.
I'm not saying Ferdinand isn't the answer however i saw more than enough to know CR(i liked him and liked the idea of what he wanted)wasn't a football manager at this level so i felt a change was necessary.
Do i blame CR?no of course i don't,that accolade goes to TF who has been a mitigating disaster for our great club.
A wily old character NW is which is exactly what we needed last time we were in desperate shit in this division and he done more than any of us expected.
CR will never have the ability to do what NW does so as much as you liked him it was only going to end the way it did.
Even someone as nuts as TF could clearly see he'd made a desperate naive appointment that was doomed to failure.
You're a good fella Punt but we'll have to agree to disagree mate
