Very creditable performance today 19:31 - Apr 13 with 6403 views | Jackfath | Well done, felt the players could not have given more. To lose 1-0 against a team still in the Champions League, and in with a chance of winning the prem with 10 men is not too shabby at all. Da iawn pawb.

Very creditable performance today on 11:18 - Apr 14 with 1053 views | Spratty | Whilst the results have been disappointing the players put in brilliant effort with 10 men yesterday and should be commended for throwing their all at it. Support also brilliant. Bony's work rate and contribution at both ends was again exceptional. Routs was on fire once again and a joy to watch. Pablo was looking excellent in his short time on pitch. Despite his defensive frailties I was gutted he was the one taken off because (especially with a team like Chelsea) he is the one with all the trickery that can create chances out of nothing and that was important given we were unlikely to hold them with 10 men (although in fairness we made a brilliant effort at it). I thought Shelvey also had a good game and Amat was class and showed great maturity.

Agree. Shelvey had his usual, toys out of pram and throwing himself into tackles with his usual indiscipline when the going gets tough. He is about 2 years away from being a top player.

Even though he looks about 40, he is young. But I think and hope he will be a top player for us in the coming years.

Bookings and sendings off are not the only signs of indiscipline. He dived in twice yesterday only to get away with it on both occasions. He also shows indiscipline with his passing and some of the runs he makes. Very often he will try and play a crazy ball rather than keep possession with a more disciplined approach. The goals at home against Liverpool and the second one away at Arsenal were two examples when his indiscipline cost us. Cut those out and he has all the attributes to be a good player.

Basically you want him to play like Leon. You do realise we don't score goals by passing sideways and backwards? How many goals has he scored compared to Leon?

your talking utter garbage bringing up liverpool he was the one who got us a point by what he does and if your trying to blame him for any of the goals at arsenal you really dont know what your talking about plus if thats the only things you can bring up then he must be some player as i see gerrard toure and all the other top midfielders give senseless balls away some of ypu on here are really amazing

I'm not arguing that he didn't help get us a point against Liverpool, but had he remained disciplined we would have won the game. Cut out the bad habits and we have a very good footballer. He has held his hand up for the second goal away at Arsenal. That is a good enough indication that he was at least in part to blame.

Not at all. He just has to learn where and when to play the ball. Something he very openly admits to.

did anyone have a day after the sending off it was backs against the wall for all of them all he and briton was doing was chasing after 3 midfielders of chelsea so hardly got a chance to impose himself on game as it was about survival which i thought they did pretty well considering they were up against champions league semi finalists with 10 men for most of game

Shelvey if far better being used as an attacking midfielder, i think he loves that role and he's got goals in him which are what we need urgently right now

Someone needs to tell Shelvey that then as in an interview he held his hand up and said he lost his head and played a pass that he shouldnt have which left us exposed.

but rangel still should of controlled it and then still should of stopped the cross its absolute bolox that a pass to a wide player that he fails to control should lead to a goal so he has no blame in my eyes the cross should never have been allowed and forwards should of been marked simple so cant blame a players whos passed a ball out wide 35yrds from goal its madness look at real reason we conceded the goal

No one is saying that Rangel is not to blame. The point was related to Shelvey needing to have more discipline in certain situations. The Arsenal one is a case in point. We had just conceded and should have just looked to settle back down and regain composure. However Shelvey admits that his thought was ro go and chase game again, but now realises it was wrong option as we were left exposed. Once he cuts those things out he will be a very good player. The fact that he recognised his own mistake tells me that he will learn and only get better.

The real debate is not about who was at fault for the Arsenal goal but whether Shelvey needs to improve in terms of discipline with and without the ball. In my opinion he certainly does, but he is only young. Jonjo himself agrees, as he has said so in interviews and most pundits point it out as well Quite simple really.
