EFL Fixtures out on 26 June.....So
at 11:21 27 Jun 2024

It was Pitch TV with the contract for iFollow, they didn't have a gallery in an OB van, I think that was all done back at base, so the production costs for that wouldn't have been that bad.

I think if SKY can get rid of the satellite costs then that saves a lot of money, but I reckon after the initial novelty factor has worn off there will be very small audiences watching two lower mid table EFL clubs.

Something that might work could be a studio show where they jump in and out of the games, like Soccer Saturday, but this would be a curated feed and showing the footage.

The US do this all the time for "March Madness" when they have lots of simultaneous games on and choose to 'feed' their viewers, rather than let them hop around to find the action

I think that train left the station a while back.
All TV companies are changing the way that television is distributed.

You can watch the Euros in UHD on the iPlayer, thats not cost efficient to enable over digital terrestrial television.

If you are a smaller broadcaster thats not bound by public service broadcasting you can use OTT services and stream a linear channel now, a lot of smart tv's will still create an EPG, so the average viewer doesn't realise they are watching an ip stream, rather than traditional broadcast.

Depending where you want to go on the EPG Freeview can be £8m a year, why wouldn't you distribute over ip.

SKY sell the SKY Q, so you can watch without a satellite receiver, to reduce their cost.

Within 5 years most houses won't have an aerial or dish to watch content. I think Comcast are firmly in this for the long haul. Whether they paid too much for the rights, like iTV, Setanta, ESPN and BT all did only time will tell!

Thats a serious point though isn't it?
An average 12:30 EFL game on SKY got ~250,000 viewers

If that viewer base can choose which game they want to watch then its possible that some matches may only get a couple of thousand viewers.

At what point is it not economically viable to send a crew out to film this, and distribute it back to Hounslow, put a commentator on it and encode it for the streaming app?

I dunno, I like the kit, and I think the colours used in the accent do match the colours in the SA flag.

Blue and white are excluded, as they are used on the Home kit

Well he is, but I didn't want to say it, as I'm guessing he's scraping some more cash together for round two with our cycling dj, who is def not a nonce

Not a massive fan of JV, when he films people while he is on his bike to grass up their poor behaviour.

But, as another poster said these are civil cases, so not really wasting any real resource from criminal cases.

If JB has a Phd it was def given to him. The only thing clever about him is the way he can extract money for nothing. Something he learnt while "playing football" for QPR

Isn't that more to do with Toney the sellable asset?
If I've got a car that I'd like to sell in a year for more than I paid for it, I'm not going to use social media to tell everyone my car is a bit of an arsehole am I?

I'll probably do the opposite, say how good the car is, then flog it and maybe later let on that my car didn't like me and I didn't like it.

Then to really show it, I'd use that money to buy a better car, and drive it all round town.

Remember when one of QPR's more expensive cars had a breakdown at a really important car show? We ended up paying a French bloke to drive it around for a year hoping that everyone would forget what a cünt of a car that one was.

I completely forget about Jenas, lets move him to the top of the list.
Primarily for his work recently on The One Show

I'm still impressed by how much Nedum's bollocks have grown since he retired!
He was an absolute pussycat on the pitch, but all of a sudden he's speaking up about all the terrible things that happened while he was playing.

Also, I think you need to look at Barton in the context of one of the biggest earners in the club history. Then work out if it was worth the very average footballer we got in return. Then balance that against the disruptive force that he was.

The only thing that Barton has ever got right is calling out Jeremy Vine, but even then he messed up asking people to crowd fund his libel case...

It's got to be Joey Barton.
Anyone else who embarrasses their employer like that would be sacked immediately.
Instead, we send ours on holiday to the south of France for a year on full pay

What a weapon.

Running a close second has to be SWP, who was terrible, Imagine having £50k odd per week to spend on players now?

The Wrexham doc only mentions the other teams in passing, apart from the head to head with Notts that season.
It's very strange isn't it, the actual football takes a backseat, almost like L2 is dogshit?

Imagine having a player as good as Les now! £100+ million easy

My beef wasn't that he left, he probably should have gone the year earlier but Gerry stopped it. The real issue is how QPR spent the record money he bought in...

QPR New Deals
at 10:08 9 May 2024

You've got to hope that regardless of outgoings, or Eze money, we have a look at the Forward line in the summer.

Starting a season hoping that Dykes, Armstrong and crossing fingers for Kolli, will return 30+ goals between them just won't do it.

I realise there are about 72 clubs looking for a 20+ goal striker, so it might just be the holy grail, but they are out there.

We were so lucky last year with injuries. The squad past the first 11 is still very thin in all areas. The odds on our first choice CB pairing playing every game must be astronomical

A few years back I tried to work out how many subs you'd need to cover the £3bn outgoing rights deal and actually make any money out of the thing.

It's a mystery! More people watch Antiques Roadshow at the weekend, and you don't see a bidding war for that.

I'm not sure how many iTV Digital, Setanta, ESPN, BT Sport type deals we need to see before its realised that its not a viable proposition.

There is so much to unpick in the whole sorry case.

Obviously JT is a massive bell end. The recent interview where he thinks destroying the manager before he's even started over who sits where on a plane is a good example of his behaviour speaks volumes.

The bit I struggle with though, is football that institutionally racist that players like Rio have to wait until they retire before they are allowed to form an opinion about JT and what was done/said?

Those Chelsea players that gave evidence in court need to have a long hard look at themselves.

What an absolute cock womble that man and his extended family is/are

Isn't Turkey covered by Astra 1A still?
(Sky use this satellite for their linear channels)
I reckon you'll find a bar showing the UK Sky feed somewhere...

Otherwise it should be on the QPR+ for a tenner
