They were, Rowett looks like a genius now. Until today you could say the fixture list had been kind to them but Blackburn don't lose many.

Keep our 12 game pts return going, and it's a 73 pt finish! Playoffs?

Clearly a fitness thing with JCS unless anyone really believes he isn't a first choice starter against Edwards or Fox and if you do believe that, would you like to buy a kitchen?

Team formation

That's absolutely it (subject to superstan's comment re LW v RW) but that formation is more like from the 50s or even before and was already long gone from the pro game in the 70s. It was the first formation I played in at junior school which wasn't surprising as the headmaster (who doubled as games teacher) looked like he was straight out of the 50s, as many older men did in the 70s.

2-3-5 as we lined up! Obviously not all the numbers make sense in the modern game - 4, 5, 6 were midfielders, hence 'half' and 2 and 3 were full backs because they stayed back. A lot of the terminology remains even though it's no longer relevant or even misleading - a centre half is now a defender.

Pretty sure we've been around this block before, though.

That Hayden has gone to Portsmouth is probably an indication of how he's regarded by Championship clubs.

Finishing with either foot is good, finishing with both is exceptional.

Saito, stick or twist?

He spent three and a half seasons in the Belgian and Dutch first divisions before he came to QPR and has made nearly 100 appearances in Europe, so I'm not sure cultural adaptation is a big factor for him now.

The half season was with his parent club, who clearly don't fancy him.

I like him but not so far convinced he's better than a squad player.

Typically they'll be run on a mutual basis, so no one taking out profits. Socialism in action!

This was excruciating, as though it was deliberately designed to have every character make multiple ridiculous decisions that almost no one in real life, however stupid, ever would.

Cheer up. We'll almost certainly be safe if we do as badly as a point per game for the remaining games.
