| News Comment | Dale sign Mendez-Laing at 16:10:52
Any signing has to be good news, but he is hardly prolific - would have preferred a golscorer |
| News Comment | Done gone at 15:21:11
just seen in the Observer that Brentford are rumoured to have paid £200k for JOC. If we have received £500k+ for Done then why did we not go for JOC? Ok his wages might be a bit more than we normally pay but the £300k+ profit could supplement his wages for at least a couple of years. Without Done we will struggle for an outlet up front - we have nobody else with his pace and I hope we do not resort to Andrew and long balls into the box. |
| News Comment | Injury brings Logan's loan to end at 11:26:17
I think we will realise exactly how good a keeper Logan is during the rest of the season.I don't think Lillis is any more than adequate - he doesn't have the physical stature of Logan and I doubt we would have conceded the late " illegal" goal if Logan had still been in nets. |
| News Comment | Lazarus leaves Tykes for Dale at 18:23:28
KH has signed another none scoring striker - 3 in 46 for Barnsley and none on loan at scunny, makes George look positively prolific!! |
| News Comment | O'Connell to return? at 14:03:12
I would certainly welcome him back as both the goals on Sat came as a result of Hanson winning the ball in the air in our box. Why no mention of a striker - I know we have a lot on paper but don't think any of them merit the description "striker"!! |
| News Comment | Report: Bury 3 Dale XI 3 at 13:58:30
If TVOS1907 is referring to me then he is the one missing the point. The time for trying out kids is not the last match before the season starts - surely the match v Bury was the time to give his first choice starting 11 a game. As for youngsters, I would sooner have a 30+ proven striker like Lowe or Nardiello than a Joel Logan or heaven forbid George Donnelly! |
| News Comment | Report: Bury 3 Dale XI 3 at 09:39:01
I don't understand the point of playing such a weakened team, with an even weaker bench. If Fergie junior was watching he would have known that this was not Dale's first team!! We cannot continue with Donnelly if we are to be a credible Lge 1 side, and Morgan looked way off the pace - it also proved to me that BBM's playing days are over.We MUST spend to get a decent striker and another centre back. What's the point of having the £700k in the bank and going straight back down?? |
| News Comment | Another year for George at 09:26:21
Why would we want to keep him? He can't score goals in lge 2 so he certainly won't in lge 1 |
| News Comment | Hogan linked with Posh switch at 17:24:11
BBC website says that Dale have accepted an offer from Peterboro and the deal is stalling due to Hogan's wage demands. Through a separate source I understand that the offer is a very large amount..... |
| News Comment | Burton 1 Rochdale 0 at 12:05:01
whether it was a sending off or not, Cavanagh commits too many fouls , often just outside of our box.Looking at the BBC report he had already committed two fouls prior to his red card including one only seconds earlier - the ref would have been looking closely at him after that and as capt he needs to set a better example.Hopefully during his 3 match suspension we can get Tutte back in the starting eleven and keep Cav out of the team.It is also becoming obvious to me that Donnelly is not the answer as a main striker he need far too many chances to score. |
| News Comment | Highway to Hill at 23:29:12
Let's not forget that he has inherited a lot of dross who will all be on contract - he needs to offload Cav, Donnelly, McIntyre and perhaps Adebole, whilst Lillis is not the greatest keeper. It concerns me that Barnsley kept Flitcroft, who may well have been the real "magician" in Hillcroft. Time will tell....................... |
| News Comment | Coleman and Bell sacked at 20:19:58
Correct decision but what a waste of 12 months and prob about £100k in compensation - JC won just 14 out of 52 matches!! To have someone in place before the weekend must mean they have already been approached so Hill looks the likely candidate - whoever we get lets hope it means the end of Cavanagh as both player and captain |
| News Comment | Cavanagh signs for Dale at 14:31:32
So much for not just signing ex Accy players ( Jim Bell in Observer) Maybe we should wear Accy stanley reserve kit next season....... |
| News Comment | Ramblings of a newly relegated Daley at 12:45:29
Saw JC on TV last night and he said that the team starting next season would be very different than the one ending this. I wonder which players he will keep? I would keep very few; Goalie - but not as first choice Long - if we can sign him JK - assuming he isnt sold Tuttee - ditto JLAA Jonah still has a year left on his contract but after this season's performances and his reported bust up with the management team then I cant see him staying except in some coaching capacity. |
| News Comment | Rochdale (R) at 11:19:14
For attention of Essexdale; If you look at my posts following SE's appontment you will see that all the reasons I quoted against his appointment came true.Dunphy has failed us by not admitting his mistake early enough and then compounded the mistake by allowing Beech 6 games during which he got 3 points. On appointing JC he should have released some of the "warchest" he boasts about - surely it was better to spend to stay up than to get up?? Don't assume next season will be a walk in the park..... |
| News Comment | Rochdale (R) at 23:32:38
If we are honest then we deserve to go down as we are the worst team in this league, we have lost to every one of the bottom teams with the exception of Walsall. Just seeing JC on Sky walking across the pitch reminded me of my grandad and I fear for us next season as JK and Tutte will find better teams and all the loan players will return to their clubs. Thanks a bunch Dunphy you really have fxxxxd up big time and perhaps it is time for you to go......... |
