A Rough Guide To Leicester City
at 09:37 29 Apr 2025

The best pub by far in Leicester is the Blue Boar, bit of a walk to the ground from there but on the way to the station.

Not only decent beer but the cheese rolls are basically half a block of cheese in bun

The Rumour Mill Suggests Southampton FC Are Up For Sale

Except as Nick points out he wasn’t unfit when he bought us, circumstances changed on him and she put a lot of her own money in too

That article is an excellent summary of where we are and where we’ve been Nick, and all of it tracks exactly with my knowledge of the club too.

I still personal think it’s a disgrace how Kat was treated by a section of our support given everything she did for the club

Would you be happy with Rishi Sunak as a new Saints owner?

Would he fill two roles if he did? Both owner and the fan on the board?

5 Things About Fulham Game

i've no idea on the intricacies but it's one of those ones that as usual i have no reason to disbelieve.

Whether it happens is yet to be seen though

5 Things About Fulham Game
at 10:08 28 Apr 2025

1. The inevitability of the loss once they'd equalised was depressing

2. Felt to me like most people around me had just given up and were going through the motions, also there were A LOT of empty seats around me mostly from season ticket holders

3. Heard an interesting rumour from someone VERY itk that the club are up for sale again

4. Made the mistake of having to get food in the ground as i didn't get time for lunch and jesus how do the club justify asking the prices they do for the food, and who the hell eats it?

5. Lastly but not leastly b*llocks to Saints our mate Derrick won the ISKA British Title on saturday night, so not every Sotonian is title shy

Saints in a title fight saturday
at 23:58 23 Apr 2025

Well maybe that's a slight lie, it's only one Saint, a Saints fan who a few of you might know and more of you might know his old man Mike.

My mate Derrick is fighting for the ISKA Pro British Title on Saturday, fair few of us heading up after the match straight there to watch it but it's good to see a proper mush doing well in his sport and representing Southampton a lot better than the club are doing right now

In their favour in terms of tickets going to their fans not ours, no team needs any more favours on the pitch we give them enough already

Absolute piss take how late they've left this announcement, train prices are already looking expensive and if it goes to a monday night it's going to need time off work.

The cynic in me does also wonder if it's in Everton's favour for it to be delayed as it might mean we take a lower allocation

What is free speech?
at 16:28 16 Apr 2025

To be honest with you i find the whole trans thing the most ridiculous argument i've seen in a while.

It literally makes no difference to anyone, is none of most people's business, and is just another culture war thing designed to divide us.

Skates fans being bellends again

You're right Tim with a history of incidents like that then perhaps a points deduction isn't right.

I think the only solution is to fold the club and turn Fratton into a Tesco

What is free speech?
at 13:35 16 Apr 2025

People tend to conflate two things in my opinion.

Free speech is the ability to say something you believe in so long as it doesn't cause harm to others.

For example i can say i think all skates are scabs who lie through their teeth and sleep with their family members.

Consequences are the result of what i've said, whether that's i don't get a job, i get kicked off a platform or i get a fist in my face.

The first one is only hampered by governments, for example if a government would throw me in jail or send me to an overseas prison without trial.

The second is just everyday life, and the responsibility to not face the consequences are on me.

Free speech is the ability to say what you want without fear of retribution for saying it.

In most countries around the world it is caveated with the fairly sensible caveats that this must have boundaries, those boundaries being that that speech is free up to the point that it causes harm, or speaks untruths that cause harm to others.

The Trump regime's version of free speech, and the american right's idea of free speech, is not even close to being that, it's the idea that they should be able to say what THEY like without retribution, but should be able to control what others say based on their own guard rails.

The current debate in regards the states has much basis in "free speech" as the democratic republic of north korea does in democracy.

As for your question on incitement to violence etc. well most of the world guard against that already, and the philosopher Karl Popper covers it pretty well in his idea "the paradox of tolerance" which is "a philosophical concept suggesting that if a society extends tolerance to those who are intolerant, it risks enabling the eventual dominance of intolerance; thereby undermining the very principle of tolerance.".

Anyway the whole thing is ridiculous anyway, because there is no world in which Trump's regime have even the slightest concern of the protection of "free speech".

Bergen-Belsen - Liberated 80-years ago today...
at 13:47 15 Apr 2025

Oh yeah absolutely no judgement on my part for people who do go (well unless you're a pr*ck who uses it to take selfies for social media).

It's just my own personal ethics that make me uneasy with it, probably because i cannot get my head around how humans could've caused such horrendous suffering on others for the sole fact they were different to them.

I've always been in two minds about visiting Auschwitz or Belsen.

On the one hand it's a part of history we can never forget for fear of repeating it, and the lessons it can teach us are hugely important (today more so than ever).

But on the other hand there's something that feels slightly wrong about tourism taking place there, to have it as a venue on a holiday to tick off like the taj mahal or the eiffel tower feels to me to lessen it's significance (not saying anyone here did that by the way).

Roll Call For Saturday

Decided to go to a northern soul night instead, the combination of the god awful football and utter horror of the freaks in the Northam Wall has really put me off going to home games.

Roll on next season when we've moved out of the sh*tshow that is the northam

With Trump’s 25% tariff on cars, is it time that we stopped buying Teslas?
at 12:46 10 Apr 2025

I really hope those people who want to vote reform are watching closely what happens when you vote in a leader based on a single policy like immigration.

There's a fag paper between Reform and Trump and they'd destroy this country exactly the same as Trump is doing to the US
