Just heard of the sad passing on Mon 23rd Jan of Tony Hoyle a life long Dale fan with his wife Sue. Tony also well known in the CLL having played cricket with Castleton Moor before i think going onto the paid ranks in the Huddersfield League. Our condolences to all the family..
Well after an entertaining second half and a cracking goal coming out of the ground delighted for a change I went back to my car on Churchill St to find a parking ticket. I have parked in this spot probably for the last 10years the sign states No Parking 0800-1500 Mon - Fri yes I wasn’t thinking when I parked up but it’s a Bank Holiday the school is closed would I park there within that time when the school was open NO.I was a bit later coming out of the ground and there was another car with a ticket. RMBC get a grip I have just driven down Halifax Rd and 4 cars parked on double yellow lines on the footpath no attendant in sight.Just see if I can now appeal they are definitely stooping low targeting Dale fans for this or maybe he was a Biffos fan.
Is he available and fit enough to play I know he doesn't score many goals but he would still do a job in this team and so would Alby(shrews) just for the experience and yes at the moment we are missing Jim Mc.
Don’t know what’s happened here but on entering the main stand and the steward requesting to search through my ruck sack he noticed that I had a small bottle of water which I bring one into every match over many years and he refused me in unless I got rid of it and said it was the rules??? I also had a flask of coffee which he wasn’t bothered about.
On the 29th Jan I will have been watching the Dale for 48 years make no wonder I’m bald .We have needed our own left back for at least 3 seasons. We haven’t had our own 1st choice keeper play for about two and a half seasons. All our centre half’s seem to get injured. We haven’t had a consistent right back since Rafferty. We haven’t had an out and out winger who actually beats his man and gets to the by line since Mendez. On the plus side Big Humph looks like a good player and Baah looks dangerous in spells. But it’s never been easy as a Dale fan this year is crazy the sooner the season is over the better as long as we stay up.
Just wondering and scraping the barrel of what could make a difference not heard nothing about him since last season but no doubt he may have busy in panto over the Xmas period. To all Daley’s have a good new year
Just heard that Jock Bannerman(Walsden) has just passed away.A life long Burnley fan who toured the length and breadth of the country just to see a friendly. When Burnley didnt have a match he would always be up at Rochdale had fond memories of a couple of away trips with him.Think he will only be around the age of 60.No doubt the Clarets will give him a good send off. RIP Jock a proper football fan.
Rumour knocking about that the lad who plays for Huddersfield U23s and comes from Littleborough signing on 12 month loan midfielder. When I have spoken to people they stated cracking player look at his goals on YouTube.
Thought it looked well and played well even though we have had all this rain looks like it is now sorted with the problems last season. Compliments to the ground staff & club.
Cant believe it i got to the Ratcliffe at 13:20 only to be refused access and then having to join a queue in the pissing down rain once in had to queue for ages for a pint. Why dont they put more people behind the bar on matches like this or even open a bottle bar then at least when you are waiting you can have a drink. Up the Dale this is what success brings.
