I am glad someone else saw this happening. Because for a minute I thought I was dreaming or should I say having a nightmare , like my team. To watch Madsen and Varane actually move behind oppo players so not to recieve the ball just defies belief. If I can see it then surely Marti can. |
| Forum Reply | MC has got to go at 14:37 6 Nov 2024
MC needs to stay for now and hopefully turn this sh*t show around. However I would suggest he is not blameless. Santos, whether he plays left back or right back as against Hull is simply not good enough. Now if Paal is our only other option then that says a lot about our reserve team or development squad and surely that situation lays at the feet of someone else, or not. What we are up against in all of this is the lack of transparency from the club which leads to some of the conjecture and arguing on here. On the playing side at the moment it is plain to see from on oppositions point of view if they score at least one goal we are going to lose the game probably as we have zero threat up front. So that raises the question of who is coaching the so called strikers cos it aint working ! I personally did not see a lack of effort from Celar just that he does not have that secret ingredient the strikers instinct. What I did see though was Varane and to a lesser extent Madsen hiding and not making themselves available for the ball. I lost count of the number of times Varane was facing Cook and Field who were looking for an outlet etc but made sure the Boro attacker was between him and our player and making no effort at all to move into space. Contrast that to the way the Boro players were pass and moving and then releasing players into space and it is like night and day. So this raises a couple of questions , are the players not being coached properly , or are they that short of confidence and sometimes ability that they are incapable of playing to some sort of tactics or pattern. Lastly the first thing I would do if recruiting a player is an IQ test. Early in the game on Saturday Smyth had the defender facing his own corner flag with no way out and the proceeds to barge into him which results in the awarding of a pressure relieving free kick, MC,s reaction to this was to signal to Smyth his disbelief that he had done this. Fast forward a couple of days and Madsen does exactly the same at the loft end to Djiksteel which allowed Seny to take the freekick at least ten yards away from where it should have been and both the ref and linesman ignoring it. All in all a very sad state of affairs at our club and the lack of honesty from the club about what is going on is not helping |

What is hard to understand is how can a team that played so well on Sat produce that shite |

This post match interview will be interesting. Marti is going to have look hard into the now well thumbed excuse book to explain that garbage |

So let me get this right Marti, you aren’t, looking at the league table, you are not going to change your ways and you have had the players for two weeks solid and the performances have to worse. You are starting to worry me. |

We were totally bereft upfront when Dykes was here and it is a bit of a stretch to say he was a half decent championship striker, I think he has found his level now |

It makes no sense to me either when you have someone with Smyths pace to stick on the halfway line and occupy two of their players. To pull everyone back is inviting what happened last night. Also how is it that they have worked out a couple of effective corner routines that they used and were succesfull and we just lump it into the box every time and hope for the best. Last night prior to the first goal they executed one routine and nearly scored and then on the very next corner executed exactly the same routine and scored all be it with a bit of fortune, why were we not awake to it ? |
| Forum Reply | Field on Hull at 12:56 2 Oct 2024
Yep he was their go to guy to get up the field and releive pressure. Why no one on the coaching team spotted this I don,t know. If you compare how most oppo full backs play against our wingers it is a stark difference. Our guys get very little room and normally have a full back climbing all over them sometimes illegally. I also think we can only afford to 1 of either Andersen or Madsen and not both but it will be interesting to see if that penny drops with Marti |

Until we get someone who can put the ball in the back of the net we are going to be in trouble. The defence and midfield will be ok when we get the right combination but Celar and Frey put together are not going to get us anywhere near enough goals for us to stay in this league. One thing Marti has to take responsibility for is leaving Haverson up against their winger all game one on one. He had a couple of options, bring on Fox and move Dunne to right back or bring on the guy from Newcastle with instructions to clatter him into next week, he did neither. Poor management |
| Forum Reply | Madsen at 21:57 1 Oct 2024
Both him and Andersen are not up to it so Marti playing both of them is a recipe for disaster . And as for Santos he was murdered all night and that is on Marti as well. We started the game well and if we had taken one of the many chances we might have gone on to get something. Lastly we must be the unluckiest team in the div. |

If Michael Oliver is the best we have then no wonder we get the standard of refs we do |
| Forum Reply | Millwall Reflection at 15:48 21 Sep 2024
Very lazy lacklustre performance today. I thought Millwall shaded it and we were a bit lucky to get a point. Madden and Andersen on the pitch together doesn’t work . The ref well what can you say, about the same standard as that clown on Tuesday night |

Sadly this lot will probably get away with it. Think about how long City have been able to tie the so called authorities up in legal knots over 115 charges. The whole club Chelsea is a cesspit and epitomises all that is wrong with football. Any club that makes a player who sings racist songs their captain is below contempt. Their lording of John Terry tells you everything about their so called fans There has been talk recently of a two tier justice system as if this is something new but as we know if you have enough money you can buy yourself a different grade of justice and that is what is happening with football for the last 20 years at least. Sadly some of the players have to take responsibilty in this with their wage demands etc and their lack of morals. I would love to be able to earn ten per cent of what Raheem Sterling earns a week but there is no way I would have signed for them after being racially abused by some of their fans when playing for City or after seeing the black guy not allowed onto the train in Paris by some of their scum fans or play for a club that eulogises John Terry , I would go somewhere else and earn a little less. |

I don,t get the giving Charlie a hard time people. Some people have very short memories. If Lyndon had 10% of Charlies ability he would be twice the player he is now. Charlie wasn,t blessed with great pace but boy did he know where to be at the right time. For me a club legend |

Maybe the effect Clarke was talking about on the squad was they all went on the piss when they heard he was injured as it gives them a much better chance of winning |

Given our record in this competition I don,t think it really affects us !!. Point taken about it affecting the lower league clubs though |
| Forum Reply | Plug in hybrids at 14:05 15 Apr 2024
I have a plug in hybrid and at this stage of the EV revolution I wouldn,t go fully electric. I use mine mainly for getting to work and back and generally get about 40 miles per charge. I also have Octopus as my supplier and programme charging during the night accordingly and the 40 miles costs me approx £ 1.35. We recently did a long trip to Yorkshire for a few days and back, if the place you are staying does not have charge points you are snookered and we found that some public parking have 2 or maybe 3 charge points but even those with 7 or 8 sometimes have no availability so the fall back option of an engine was essential. I would personally not go fully electric until the infrastructure is better. |
