| Forum Reply | Would you have Hill back in any capacity. at 19:29 30 Jan 2023
Seems like I'm in the minority but I'd have Hill back immediately as manager for the rest of the season. We have 18 games left of which we need to win 7-8 at the very least. Does anyone honestly see us hitting that form under Bentley given that we've only won 1 of our last 10 and have consistently lost against our relegation rivals? Sure he inherited a crap squad but it's not like we're in a league of superstars. Every team in the division has mediocre players but some have managers that can get the best out of them, we don't. For me the choice is to stick with Bentley and almost certainly lose our league status for whats likely to be a long time. Or bring Hill in and hope that he can find something in this squad that Bentley clearly can't. If it doesn't work out then we've lost nothing and at least we'll have tried. This is nothing personal against Bentley btw. I would have loved him to succeed and I've never been one to call for the managers head. I just don't see how we can continue as things are. It'll take more than a couple of young loanees and a player that's been without a club for half a season to turn our form around. |

Only disappointment for me is that's its taken us so long to change formation and mentality. If we'd made this change at the start of the year we could easily be 10 points better off by now. On the positive side I'm more confident now that if we do go down we'll at least be competitive and worth watching. |

Nil nil would've been the fair result but just so predictable we'd make a stupid mistake and gift them the winner. Reckon it'll be a while before I waste another 10 quid watching us try and fail to find a cutting edge. On a positive note Roberts was great. |

Not a bad half but struggling to create much. Wimbledon happy to sit back and hit on the counter. We've mixed it up but final ball been lacking. Need to get Newby on the ball more. |

Big fan of Rathbone but he's had an absolute shocker today. Gave the ball away twice in the lead up to the second goal. |

Really poor this. Expected a tough game but in reality we've made it so easy for them. Our passing has been terrible. |

We've got some decent players but let's be honest the squad as it is wouldn't survive in league 2 nevermind league 1. Feel sorry for BBM. He's potentially a really good manager who isn't being given a chance. |

Radiohead - some really good songs but not worthy of the legendary status some seem to give them. Oasis - loved them when I was young but in hindsight incredibly dull other than a few early b-sides. Terrible live too. Liam Gallagher - sub oasis songs sung badly. Whatever singing talent he had disappeared 20 years ago. Sex Pistols - all hype, zero substance. Why listen to them when you can listen to the Stooges? The Beatles did more great songs in 66-67 alone than all the above combined have done in their entire career. |

Glad that the club has given some clarity on the situation but sad that it basically means there's no chance of Hendo playing for the club again. Just wish all of this had been kept private. Hendo really should've just kept his mouth shut. |

Gutted he's gone but let's be honest now, if he was that keen to stay he would have signed the contract on offer. Did he really think we're in a position to be offering better terms now then we were earlier in the season? If that's the case then he's been incredibly naive. Still should've been communicated properly though. No excuse there. |

I have a small amount of sympathy for Tranmere based on in my opinion ending the season early should mean no playoffs. That would mean only the bottom two need be relegated. Other than that though sod 'em. Our record against the bottom 3 this season was played 4, won 4. We scored 11 goals in them games too. We might have been poor but we're a lot better than the relegated teams. That's before you take into account the ridiculous injuries we've had and the fact our last game vs Rotherham was probably our best performance of the season. Don't believe for one second we would have been relegated if the season had been finished. If Tranmere are as brilliant and wealthy as their fans seem to think they are then getting promotion next season should be a formality. |

Couple more that haven't been mentioned... Henderson vs. Chesterfield in the 2016/27 season. Casual sidefoot finish into the top corner from the edge of the area. Probably the best goal he's scored for us I reckon Jason Peake vs. Halifax back in the late 90s. Overkick from outside the box. Haven't seen a goal like it since |

Stage 1 - Trump says something stupid, offensive or outright dangerous. Stage 2 - His 'fans' trip over themselves trying to explain how what he said was actually really clever/fake news Stage 3 - Trump comes out with a statement that completely goes against the explanation his fans have invented You've basically had this on repeat for the last few years. At what point do people just admit he's a terrible leader? |

It doesn't seem like the current social distancing will be a one off. If there's a second outbreak then obviously next season will be affected. That gives us the possibility of it not being finished. Of course this is guess work and no one really knows for sure. |

This season has to be completed one way or the other. It's the only fair and reasonable solution. Calling this one null and void just means theres a strong possibility we end up with two successive seasons that don't get finished. |
