The fitness thing is weird I agree - it's not like he was at home playing XBOX all summer either, he was with the Slovenia squad at EURO24 presumably training etc.

He looked knackered after the warm-up when I watched him at Coventry.

But then I am told by someone who played with him at Blackburn that Alan Shearer was the worst trainer, was rubbish at sprint and bleep test and had the lowest level of natural fitness in the entire squad...you never know!

Who is going to score for us tom night?

Cabango header from a corner / FK seems as likely as anything at the moment.

I think people need to temper their expectations of this kid. I can't deny I was reasonably excited at the prospect of getting a Slovenian international striker who's initial stats suggested he had goals in him.

But the facts are:

- He is only 22 so barely into his prime as a striker
- He has played 128 hours of professional football - sod all basically
- So far in his career he has a record of one goal in every 172 minutes played, so roughly a goal every other game - a pretty decent conversion rate...

For comparison, Cullen's record is a goal every 208 minutes (265 minutes in the Championship) and Piroe for us scored a goal every 173 minutes.

So far for us Zan has scored only one goal in 489 minutes of play which is clearly terrible, but in mitigation we know how hard it is to be a striker in this current Swansea team.

Frankly, Zan is a backup/"potential" striker at this level being asked to share the role of flagship striker with Cullen. He is clearly not a player who is going to hit the ground running and make an instant impact. This is fully on the owners and the management team.

I for one will be managing my expectations, hoping he develops well over the next couple of years, and getting behind him every time he plays.

Richard, are you sure you are talking about Peart-Harris?

The same Peart-Harris who has come on purely as a striker substitute and jogged around aimlessly? Or have I missed a match where he played in midfield (genuine question)?

It's a no-brainer to sign both AT THE RIGHT WAGE. Our squad depth is paper thin so adding two Championship-experienced pros can't not help.

No I think it suggest he is putting in 1.08 cross a match that finds the target (a striker's head/foot) and he only manages to do that with 22% of his total crosses - rough mathematics means 4-5 crosses a match.

His stats suggest he's not been as bad as the eyes suggest.

1.08 successful crosses per 90 mins played (74th percentile); 22% cross accuracy (50th percentile); dribble success rate 67% (85th percentile).

Abdulai on the left wing. You know it, I know it.

Not forgetting the intangible benefits such as a wider fan base, commercial opportunities etc. Ki being a great example.

This sucks, but is why we spent £££ on Bianchini right??

I recall an interview where he admitted his historical work-ethic hasn't been professional enough?

Hopefully he has got to 30 and realised he needs to sort his life out as he clearly has the talent.

Back to Vigouroux, watching him closely at Cov I noticed his positioning sense is immaculate. The same can be said in the Stoke game. Which is sort of counter-intuitive when he has such a languid style, but he clearly has great instincts.

The thing us fans need to accept is that he is a goalkeeper, and at some point he will have a dip in form or make a howler, every keeper does. He has enough in the credit bank so far for me to get behind him whatever comes.

Grimes and Fulton

"Grimes was very good as always"...is this sarcasm? Apart from the two key moments he passed the ball straight to a SU player resulting in an attack on our goal...and the "free-kick" at the end?

He was dreadful against Bristol too.

But seemingly un-droppable.

As already discussed, it's hard to do this when the squad is as thin as it is, but sometimes it's healthy for players who have become "auto-picks" to get a game or two on the bench to remind them there is competition for their positions.

Ronald is a prime candidate, I feel he is resting a bit on his early-promise laurels. All he currently offers is work-rate, which is not enough.

Grimes is the other obvious candidate but we all know he is seemingly un-droppable. I don't like to criticise our players generally, but his terrible performance needs calling out. Bullied off the ball too easily, slow to get back, no vision - how many times I could see Ronald, Franco and Vip waving their arms for a ball over the top and he hesitated before playing a sideways pass to Tymon.

Given he has the lion's share of our overall possession, it just is not good enough. How many other teams in the Championship have one midfielder who plays this possession-hogging, slow, zero-threat "quarterback" role?

And don't get me started on the two corners we had near the end where he failed to beat the first man TWICE, and didn't even have the humility to apologise to the team.

He is Mr. Consistent - consistently playing at 70% of his capability.

I sometimes consider handing my Swans card in when I see Grimes walking the ball out of the box in the 89th minute when we need a goal.

He was dreadful today, totally outclassed by his opposite number.

A final word for Vigs who was excellent again.

To be fair he needs a look in the mirror.

How many times have we tried to preserve a 1-0 lead and failed because we don't give the opposition anything to think about.

Why persist with Abdulai on the wing when we needed energy in midfield (sorry, but Joe is past it)? Why bring on Key who looked good, but pair him with a knackered and crap Ronald?

What did Peart-Harris offer that Vipotnik wasn't? At least Zan was trying to link play a bit.

Yes, we don't have strength in depth but we are still trying to put the good pegs we have in the wrong holes!

Excruciating!

I let out a little strangled cough when Cooper scored the 2nd...

...but I also realised that I could shout "come on City" and no-one would know the difference .

Certainly glad I made the trip up from London and survived sitting amongst the Coventry fans!

Hoping to make Luton and Watford away this year too.
