Manager Ronnie Moore said: “Joe is a great addition to the squad.

“He’s got plenty of pace, he’s good on the ball and he likes to take the opposition on.

“He can create and score goals and he’s strong in the air too. "

Just bear in mind, Ronnie, life is never without its disappointments.

They must have thought they were signing a different player, will be a shock when Joe turns up

Had his best game for us at Dagenham (A) in front of the back four on a pudding of a pitch.

Whereas Joe T's best performance was probably the hat-trick he got in 17 mins at Aldershot in January 2009.

Odd to think he scored 20% of his league goals - 15 in 86(+59 as sub.) league appearances - in that one match.

Confidence player who needs a run in the team, performs in bursts can be brilliant but mostly average/poor didn't play much last season. Not as good as jlaa

thats not fair to say he is not as good as jlaa. i agree with the statement but it isnt fair to say that. i say this because he didnt get as much of a running did he, he is not in the same position. 9 times out of 10 when he was in strike he put a goal in. when he was in strike he did brilliant! when he had good games, he was brill. when he had bad, they weren't terrible. he has never played TERRIBLE. anyway he didnt get as much time on the pitch as jlaa. jlaa had a average season compared to what he would get with the likes of grimsby. i hope joey does well for tranmere. i wish him the best of success. oh, and he didnt play much last season, this doesnt mean it was his fault.

Surprised to see that JC had offered him a 2-year deal. Much as I think Joe got some unwarranted abuse, he wasn't the sort of player to whom I would have offered such a lengthy deal. Certainly not with his record in the last 6 seasons at any rate.

Probably best that he found pastures new. Good luck to him.

The fact that in six years, he's never been able to cement a place in the side is the telling point for me. Loan players were brought in ahead of him as well. The likes of Adam Rundle and Kallum Higginbotham were both fired off despite arguably having more of an impact.

Will always been one that splits opinions but I think had he been signed from another lower league club, he'd never have seen 6 years at the club.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

He was only on loan at Chesterfield from Celtic.

Tranny have changed the photo, but no correction to Ronnie Moore's "he likes to take the opposition on."

He'll learn.

I remember him playing at Tranmere away in the same position and putting in the worst performance of any of our players over the course of that season. Think he even got subbed off at H/T.

Tangled up in blue.

yeah, once you reach the last week of august, clubs get nervous, especially players into the last year of their contract, to try get any fee for them.

surely you just contradicted yourself? first you said we need to get them asap as they get snapped up, then you just said end of august is the best time. Make your mind up?

was just thinking for us we need them in sooner, but it seems to be most deals with players in the last year of their contract go late August, to keep them going for free in January.

Had a very vivid dream that joey t was sold for 14.5 million!

Thompson on the move? on 10:16 - Aug 4 with 1751 viewsSteTsGoldenBoot

I really wish Joe well, a great bloke who I really wanted to come good for Dale.

However, i'm not sure that i could have coped with another two years of frustration.

I hope we have a sell on clause, just in case the Trannies can unlock the undoubted potential that he has.

Everything thats been, has past. The answers in the looking glass!

25 k, really??

Now reported as £75k in some newspapers. Will this be with add ons?

Thompson on the move? on 12:23 - Aug 4 with 1655 viewsChaffRAFC

Seen that the Star are reporting that we've got £75,000 for him. If that's the case then Ronnie Moore needs his head testing and John Coleman needs knighting!

I don't for one minute reckon we've got anywhere near that and that it will be nearer £15,000-20,000.

Coleman has said we could have got more if it had gone to tribunal. So if the figure was £75,000, he needs knighting, giving the freedom of the town and then fitting for one of those snazzy jackets that fasten up at the back. Cos to get 75k for Joey would be saintly and to expect more on top of that would be mental.

I'd imagine it will have been sub £25K

Indeed I am, although not actually on that picture as I was directly in front of him while the picture was taken at an angle. I would try to explain angles and stuff but it's the summer holidays and I can't really be bothered.

Give yourself a high 6 for the original gag though.
