Is there any chance that Warbs could pick Kane to play the Amos role?
As we have such a small squad Kane in defensive midfield looks a good bet.
Let's face it he can shoot on target and score - underlined by the goal against Cardiff and against Millwall in July.
And by the way we've only conceded one goal from open play in the last SIX matches.
Goals conceded 5 penalties, two own goals and one from open play. Just a thought.

He played well yesterday and we may well see people playing out of position.
I've never understood the worry about playing Kane, to be honest. Kakay is certainly in better defensive form since breaking into the team but Kane is not a bad player imo.
He used did to display a habit of playing too narrow and not pressing the ball, maybe, but yesterday that wasn't on show. Cardiff, unusually, play down the left mostly and Bennett and Murphy hit him hard first half and he stood up. In the second half Bennett resumed the onslaught with Hoilett the new man on the left. Cardiff still played the ball to the left. Kane, though his job was made somewhat easier by Hoilett's tendency to check in to his right early, still did very well.
With our squad being smaller than in other years we may well see some invention in the case of further injuries, so it's a very good point Greenbay. Options are golden. |  |

At the risk of over simplifying things, Kane may fall into that category of players who feel a bit less pressure behind close doors.
Part of what was letting him down last season was a chronic case of simple yet misplaced passes. Up close it did look like he was pretty nervous. The good thing about that, if true, is if he can get on top of it he can still be a very good player for us. Seen it in fits and starts. |  | | |

Kane was terrible for most of last season, one of our worst players.
He's much improved since lockdown and definitely deserves a place in the team now. I hope continues to improve as we need options. |  | | |

At the end of last season he scored a brilliant flying header with as much technique as his cut across first time shot yesterday. I said on another thread he has the potential to be a Paul Warhurst type player for us. A defender who can be deployed up front. Wednesday noticed that Warhurst was able to play defence but when needed they could actually play him up front or put him up as an emergency striker when needed. The difference between Kane and a lot of other laughingly bad attempts to stick a defender up front here when needed is that Kane appears to be supremely confident when in the opposition's box. I don't think we have anything to lose in him training in both positions and being deployed as needed where needed. The game is about being versatile and given the way the game is played these days and the way squads are tight why not have a few players who can play radically different positions when needed. |  |

Although we lost at Blackburn the substitutions were impressive.
Kane moved up to right midfield with Kakay his replacement.
And Kane so close when hitting the post.
Willock good too.
Dykes isn’t getting the right service IMO.
He needs the ball crossed into the box so he can head back to a supporting player like he did with that Ball goal last weekend
We went for the win v Blackburn after Dykes smashed in the pen.
And then got punished by 2 breakaways against 2/3 players who are of a higher standard.
Although defeat is not great we showed in that spell just after HT what we can do.
Remember no BOS cos of injury today.
Agreed with other posts - Willock to start with BOS on the other wing and Chair in the centre.
Uncle as sub for one of those 3 if required. Uncle is a class act.
The defence despite conceding 3 is so much better than last season with Dieng brilliant.
So it’s in attack we have a problem.
But Dykes could be good if we give him the right service.
And we know Bonne can head the ball.
I’ve got a lot of faith in Warbs.
Slowly but surely he’s getting the best out of the players we have.
One thing - as a newby this season on LFW - why are so many people negative and nasty to each other?
We all have one thing in common.
We all want QPR to do well.
Yes constructive opinion is good but negativity and being nasty - there’s no reason for it.
We are a little club with big dreams.
I’m looking forward to the day when we’re in the Premiership again.
We are trying to be financially sensible.
We’ve got the training ground now.
Hopefully a new stadium one day.
And hopefully each year improvements on the field of play.
It’s a tough task.
It can be done. It’s fun too with joy when we win and heartache when we lose.

Great post and I thought your post considering potential of moving Kane into Amos was a great spot one of the best posts in a long time.
Kane has pace, can tackle, and his awareness and passing is improving with more game time and a settled side (plus Kakay is starting 11 material), plus these attributes could compliment Cameron or Ball.
Cameron and Luongo played very well together as complimented each other and Ball and Kane might be able to do likewise over the next few seasons. | | | |

Great Post on the football aspects.
As to why there seems to be a lot of animosity on here, we're like a 20 year old marriage; in those first few years we put up with each others habits and opinions as it's "cute" to be different, but when you have been on here as long as some of us have, patience with each other wears thin. Add in lockdown and a poor run - BOOM!
Oh, and never forget that we only share one thing - QPR. Everything else that divides opinion has also come to the fore recently, which doesn't help.
If we think someone is a dick, just because they support QPR doesn't alter the fact that we think they're a dick, who happens to share our love for this incredibly frustrating, but beautiful club. |  |
