Le Tiss Names The Player To Build The Saints Team Around ! Friday, 7th Jun 2019 11:23 Matthew Le Tissier has made it quite clear whom he thinks could be the pivotal player in taking Saints back up into the top half of the table not just next season but going forward. The man they call Le God has spoken about whom he believes is the player to take the club forward and why the club need to get him to commit to a new deal forthwith. That man is Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Le Tiss says this but starts with some words of caution: “I think he got sent off twice this season, which for a captain isn’t particularly great. “He has got to work on that side of his game because he can be a little bit rash, but it comes from the right place. “His heart is in the right place because he only wants the best for the football club. “I think if he curbs that side of things, then I think he will be a captain for many years to come at the football club. “He has got that character that you see someone who cares passionately about what he is doing and how the team perform. “I think he is one player who I would definitely be looking to keep and get on a long-term contract and keep him as the captain.” Le Tissier is again right and after a slow start at the club when joining in 2016 and then being completely ignored for the first three months of Mauricio Pellegrino's reign at the helm, Hojbjerg has knuckled down and become a key player for Saints, in truth he is one of the few leaders in the current Saints team and Hasenhuttl will see that he is a man with a passion for the team and the club.
