Having seen his second half effort against Manure where he looked unfit and being charitable at least a yard off the pace, it probably would be better for all concerned if he retired.

He could go back to Sunderland to count his signing on fee and wages to date whilst looking for alternative employment.

The Club could then stop wasting time and effort attempting to kid everyone that he’s one for the future.

Ramsdale is a fully paid up member of the cult of Martin
at 17:31 4 Oct 2024

Strange, given that McCarthy conceded only one goal in each of the Premiership games he played this season.

Agreed no clean sheets either but by any measure better than Ramsdale’s record so far.

Maybe tomorrow he will succeed, where this season to date they have both failed ?

Pat, I think any of us would be a member of the cult if you’ve just received a signing on bonus beyond most normal people’s comprehension. Not forgetting of course a salary in excess of £100,000 a week.

I’m pretty certain that should Russell Martin depart, Mr Ramsdale will very quickly dial in to the next managers cult.

It’s called not biting the hand that feeds you.

On a footballing note. It would help us immensely tomorrow if Mr Ramsdale could keep a clean sheet. So far, he’s let in ten goals in four matches, which by anybody’s standards provides room for improvement.

Watch Arsenal v Leicester in North London or have lunch with Lucy Pinder in Winchester.

Tough call that one.

Mr Tache, you now state that “ I know a ton of people in the club right” but in a previous contribution state that you have not spoken to them since Monday evening.

Any particular reason that you haven’t enquired further of them since Monday ?

After all, we do appear to be entering a critical period given the suggested Board split, Russell Martins possible departure and replacement, together with the club’s disastrous start to the season.

Is it possible that all of your suggested contacts have taken a vow of silence or are you actually just as much in the dark as the rest of us ?

Agreed Ifonly, and whilst accomplishing three parts of F all, along with the rest of our Board and Directors, he has probably been paid a ridiculous salary to boot.

An assumption that there is currently anybody at Sports Republic or Southampton F C with football experience in the first place Nick.

A totally unnecessary relegation from The Premiership, promotion from The Championship only via the play offs, together with a disastrous last transfer window and our current perilous league position perhaps indicates the opposite ?

UTS1885, your post suggests that you have some strong opinions concerning Lucy.

Have you any evidence that you can share with the rest of us to substantiate your suggestions concerning her behaviour or are your views just pure conjecture ?

No team promoted to The Premiership during the last 20 years has avoided relegation unless they have accumulated 8 points from their first 10 fixtures according to dirk doone on tonight’s match day thread.

Assuming this is a correct statistic we now need 7 points from two away games at Arsenal and Man City together with two home games against Leicester and Everton.

It’s currently now looking a very safe bet that we will to all intents and purposes be relegated by the first week of November.

Well done Sports Republic’s Owners, Board, Recruitment Team and Management. Some achievement to be in the running to be relegated from The Premiership twice in only three seasons.

Nailed it kingslandstand1 confirming what I’ve been saying for weeks.

Our Recruitment Team ( if indeed we have one ) managed to do the almost impossible in spending a nett £70 million to end up with a squad full of young hopefuls and Championship underachievers.

Russell Martin is being slated for attempting the impossible in being asked to compete in The Premiership with a Championship squad.

The fella that manages Man City wouldn’t save us from relegation given the players currently at Martin’s disposal.

At least he’s got the excuse of a long term injury and lack of game time. The others ?

Sorry I couldn’t keep up, make that 10 goals conceded now.

Mccarthy in goal at Newcastle and at home to Forest and we lose both games 1-0. According to my maths that’s 1 goal a game conceded.

Ramsdale in goal at Brentford, home to Man Utd and Ipswich plus tonight’s abomination with forty five minutes still to play. According to my maths that’s 2.5 goals a game conceded so far.

£18 million better than McCarthy City boy ? Not when you look at the facts I would suggest.

At this rate we will be bottom of the league by 22.00 hrs this evening on our way to achieving the almost impossible, relegation by Halloween.

Not forgetting that Mr Ramsdale has now let in nine goals in four games. He’s £18 million better than McCarthy though according to many fellow contributors to this site, Hmmm.

Same as it ever was.

An opposition player scores his first goal for his new club against us, just like Man United’s second at St Mary’s.

Not forgetting Rashford netting for the first time since March in the same game.

So after only five Premiership fixtures it’s Dibbling to lead the line at 18years old and no starting place for our million pounds forwards signings Diaz and Archer.

Another triumph for our Recruitment Team.

Having let in seven goals in only three matches Mr Ramsdale owes us a match winning performance.

Hopefully it will be tomorrow at one of his old clubs.
