| News Comment | Who Will Be The Next Southampton Manager ! A Surprise Candidate Emerges. at 11:08:03
Ralph's time was up. He had become stale and his man management had somewhat diminished. Jones was a shocking appointment. No experience at this level and worse still, no experience at this level with a club already in a relegation scrap. Selles is no manager, good coach yes, but should never have been given it. Potter would be great for us but don't think he'd drop down a league. Rogers, no thank you. Cant stand him. Obnoxious and arrogant. Thommasen, hmm, not sure. Let's just hope sport republic get this decision right, although past history doesn't exactly fill me with hope. |

Tall Paul for Adams. We struggle at set piece so the extre height would be an advantage. Sulamane on the right hand side against Cucerella. Not sure he'd get much change out of Reese James. |

Nick, last week you said we are well stocked in the holding midfield department. Ibrahim Diallo is our weak link. He'll do something great and then give the ball away straight away. 4 or 5 times he put us in trouble. We need a defensive midfielder to play with Latvia. I do agree that we need a striker badly. I like the look of Moffi. Big, strong, quick and scores goals. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Nottingham Forest The Verdict at 13:15:24
I honestly didn't think I could see a worse Saints team than Ian Branfoots. But I was wrong. Nathan Jones is like Liz Truss. Both were given a position of power in a bid to make things better only to f*ck things up in a matter of weeks. And we all know what happened there. |
| News Comment | Saints Look To Bayern Munich For Central Defender at 13:05:08
No ! No ! No! We need an experienced centre back. No more young kids. We need leadership on the pitch not someone with potential who we may be able to flog for a few extra quid !!! |
| News Comment | Saints Fans Should Be Careful Of What They Wish For As Potential Buyer Is Revealed at 12:54:07
I admire your sentiments Nick when it comes to local businessmen running the club and putting little money into the club but football has moved on from that. Foot ball is multimillion pound business nowadays. Mr Gao needs to invest in the team or we will be relegated eventually. However I agree that this bloke is not the answer !!!! |
| News Comment | Southampton At Everton The Verdict at 17:37:11
Just a couple of points ro make. With Calvert-Lewin being so prominent in the air, why was Vestergaard not marking him as soon as Evertons gameplan showed itself. As soon as Vestergaard started to pick him up he hardly had a kick. Point two. Why was Nathan Redmond still on the pitch after 80 minutes. He was having an absolute shocker and should've been taken off at half time. I know we are short of numbers but Tella or Jankewitz surely couldn't have done any worse. Armstrong did have a good game in the middle but I do feel he's wasted there. Jankewitz for Redmond at half time and move Armstrong wide or a straight swap with Tella could've given us more impetus going forward. Redmond was doing more harm than good. Frankly, he is just not consistent enough to deserve a start. Signs are there that we can get results sooner rather than later but the team looks very unbalanced without an out and out right back. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Manchester United The Verdict at 15:43:15
Can I just make the point that according to talk sport Alex Jankewitz has been racially abused because of his sending off and the consequences it caused last night. And this by a section of so called Saints fans. This is our player and he shouldn't be subjected to such vile abuse. You hear about it happening at other clubs but I've never heard of it at Saints. Nick, if you read this post, can you run a thread and condemn these disgusting individuals. |

Boy o boy do we miss Ings. Moussaka baffles me. Loads of pace and loads of skill and still he won't have a go at his full back. Armstrong has not been at it. He gave Wolves their goal the other night and wasn't great today. Not convinced with Theo being down the middle. Would rather have him wide and have Longy up front with Che. Just my opinion. |
| News Comment | Saints V Newcastle United The Preview at 16:16:49
I have a nasty feeling Djnepo could be chucked in at right back. I may be mistaken but didn't he play as a left wing back a couple of times last season ? Just something out of left field, pardon the pun, thats been bugging me all week !!! |
| News Comment | Saints At Aston Villa The Verdict at 17:25:41
Is it any coincidence that we start to look shakey at the back as soon as Jack Stephens comes on. I have absolutely nothing against the lad apart from the fact I dont personally think he's good enough. After looking in complete control first half, we looked nervous and indecisive at the back in the second. Was it a matter of taking our foot off the pedal or is my observation correct. I think the latter. Still, a great win and I'm sure we'd have all taken our start after our first 2 games. COYR !!! |
| News Comment | Fraser Forster To Fight For Place at 19:33:53
That's right saintsnutcase, because McCarthy and Angus are both great with their feet. Forster is still the best keeper at the club. That Boxing day at Wembley against Spurs really shook him up which contributed to his lack of form. |
| News Comment | Saints Look To Weston ! McKennie That Is ! at 14:44:29
Heard this morning that Spurs have already produced a video unveiling Hojberg as a Tottenham player. Can't release it yet as they haven't met Southamptons asking price. Talk about state the obvious !!!. Never known such presumptuous club in all my life. Spurs all over !!! |
| News Comment | Saints Guaranteed 12th Place ! But What If ! at 12:08:32
From where we were in October after that fateful night against Leicester, I'm sure I'm not alone when I say Wow, 12th. I feared the worst after that embarrassing performance but to where we are now, no one would have foreseen how the season would finish for us. Someone asked me in November if we would stay up and I flatly told them no, that we weren't good enough. I have to say I did rather enjoy my big fat slice of humble pie. Very happy how the season has gone. Dont care if we finish 12th or 11th. My faith is restored. COYS !!! |
| News Comment | Ralph Has To Try Something Different at 21:06:40
Woah - steady on. What's the matter with me. Agreeing with Nick twice in a week. However I'm leaning towards giving Fraser one last hurrah in goal to make sure we're not making the wrong decision by selling him in the summer window. I still think theres a keeper in there somewhere and that he's better than the two in front of him. I've been banging on about Romero at Man United for a while now. I think he's a cracking keeper and way too good to be third choice at United which he will be if Henderson doesn't go out on loan again next season. Maybe worth a punt. Che Adams I think needs a few games before the seasons out. I really dont want him sold in the summer either. He's gonna be a player, just needs some game time and a goal. Then he'll be away. Up the Saints !!! |
