| Forum Thread | 1100 Paid up memberships for the trust?! at 12:27 22 Feb 2015
Hope I'm not being negative on what has been (yet another) great weekend to be a Swans fan. Just read through Phil's address on the other thread and was startled to see how few have paid up membership (especially as I'd hope recent events have led to a spike in membership) The last few days have been a reminder to us all how hard the trust works and how vital the role they play is in making us the special club that we are. I'd encourage everyone to get full membership as I'm sure this won't be the last time we need them (I'm not on commission before anyone asks!) |

Just goes to show what can happen when a player who has looked useless most of the season is given a bit of time to bed in, with the confidence of goals and some consideration taken of the way he plays.... |
| Forum Thread | Tate not in 25 man squad at 17:25 4 Sep 2014
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29058359 At the bottom of the page there's a list of all the prem team's squads, the omission I noticed from ours was Tate (despite people like Donelly and Obeng being included) Does this further add to the rumour about a coaching role? or an imminent loan deal perhaps? He seemed the most notable name missing, anyone else I've missed? |
| Forum Thread | Red centenary shirt wanted at 11:03 20 Apr 2014
Wasn't sure where to put this, but I guess it's football related. I'm still after last years Swans away kit, the red one in size small or medium. If your selling or know anyone who is please give me a shout, as I'm struggling to find one anywhere! Cheers. |
| Forum Thread | The Circus continues at Cardiff... at 09:24 8 Mar 2014
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/mar/07/vincent-tan-student-son-cardiff- Vincent Tan's student son is his eyes and ears at Cardiff Morvin Tan has had a hand in transfer deals but works at Cardiff in an unofficial capacity as eyes and ears for his father After yet another turbulent week in south Wales, and on the eve of a crucial relegation battle against Fulham, it has emerged that Vincent Tan's son, Morvin, is working for Cardiff City in an unofficial capacity, including being involved in incoming and outgoing transfers during the January window. The Guardian has learned that Morvin, a student in London, has been acting as a conduit between his father and the Premier League club, primarily by "taking a look at the numbers" at Cardiff in relation to player transactions. Morvin is not involved with the identification of players and sources at the club have stressed that he has the power to sign off a deal only once it has been approved by his father, after already going through various checks at board level. While there is no suggestion that Morvin is doing anything improper the fact that he has any part to play in player transfers at Cardiff — he is in his early 20s and has no previous experience of working in professional football, let alone at the highest level — will raise eyebrows. Part of the thinking behind Morvin becoming involved appears to be that his presence provides his father, who owns Cardiff, with another set of eyes and ears at the club as well as providing a further check on finances. Morvin is not, and has never been, on the payroll, unlike his friend Alisher Apsalyamov, the 23-year-old Kazakh who replaced Iain Moody as head of recruitment in October before being forced to leave the UK after his visa application was rejected. It is understood that Morvin has formed a close working relationship with Will Salthouse, the agent who represents both Wilfried Zaha, who joined Cardiff on loan from Manchester United in January, and Kenwyne Jones, who arrived as part of a swap that saw Peter Odemwingie sign for Stoke City. The latest development comes after the news that Vincent Tan offered the Cardiff players an illegal bonus if they avoid relegation. The Premier League have asked Cardiff for an explanation for the £3.7m survival bonus that Tan proposed during a meeting at the team hotel in London on Saturday night, before Sunday's game against Tottenham Hotspur, which Cardiff lost 1-0. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Cardiff manager whose weekly press conferences seem to be dominated by questions about his owner, suggested there is nothing to be concerned about in relation to the bonus. "We've spoken to the Premier League and they know the situation and I don't think there will be a problem," Solskjaer said. Solskjaer refused to criticise Tan for his actions, which breached Premier League rules. "Whether this was said or that was said [by Tan], that's missing the point for me, that's completely irrelevant. What's relevant is that we are there together," Solskjaer said, when asked about the bonus offer. "He was there to encourage the lads, back the team, he's behind us. And we're here to get the job done. He was there to rally everyone. I invited him to come. We showed unity and that's what you've got to show to the players, that we're all in this together. He's the owner of the club, he wants to be successful, which is great, and he came there and showed that he is backing them. And he did great. When he was stood up on that chair and was talking to them: brilliant." [Post edited 8 Mar 2014 9:25]

| Forum Thread | Swans Linked with Ecuador Winger at 09:04 8 Mar 2014
Know it's the Mirror so I'm not getting carried away, says Cardiff want him too - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/swansea-city-join-chase-ecuadorian-3 Swansea are chasing Ecuador’s Jefferson Montero — and want to do a deal before the World Cup. The Swans want to buy the pacy winger at the end of the season after seeing him dazzle against Australia in a warm-up friendly. Montero is keen to come to the Premier League from Mexican side Monarcas Morelia — and the Welsh side are clear favourites to win the £4million race. Cardiff wanted Montero in the last window but would not pay the fee despite meeting the player. Swansea are poised to open talks shortly after failing to land Thomas Ince. |

| Forum Thread | What people need to remember about the transfer window at 22:41 22 Jan 2014
1. We have seen an increasing trend for deals to be done later and later, with both player, agent and the selling club looking for the maximum cash and letting the panic build up (as well as the player and agent looking around for every offer possible, just look at what Tom Ince is doing currently. Many of the clubs also need to sell to buy, hence the position Shane Long found himself in during the August window. 2. Take anything in the media with a pinch of salt - Agents are looking for deals, both in terms of transfers and getting players improved deals at their current clubs. The media are looking for stories and desperate to compete with each other in printing supposed "exclusives" - I'll let you draw the links there. 3. Our Board work under the radar- Countless examples of this in terms of both player and manager recruitment, the price and the player have to be right, and we don't do panic buys often. I know with the current form we're all getting on edge, and we all agree we need to strengthen, so let's not panic just yet and see what happens, Feb 1st will be the time to judge. It would be helpful if we could take it in turns doing shifts in Rossi's however [Post edited 22 Jan 2014 22:55]
