The Norwich game really hammered this home for me. They were a team that transparently lacked any type of togetherness: moaning at each other and the ref, heads went down easily, individuals trying to do too much. Not surprised we're now above them. |

Looking at that table tonight it feels like a win on Saturday would be massive in terms of changing the focus of our season. If we don’t QPR it as usual of course |

This would be a great idea and well deserved for one of the greatest QPR players I’ve ever seen in the flesh (Les, Paul Parker the other two) I was at the end of season dinner after promotion and Paddy Kenny got player of the season and Adel was genuinely and in retrospect quite rightly gutted. In fact it was a weirdly moody night all round. Chance to put it right |

Agreed, let’s not write Madsen off, he got in a fair few blocks and clearances Ashby was fkin woeful and almost cost us the game by being totally casual with the ball over and over again. Until then I would say it was a masterful away performance, we looked in control throughout that second half |

Bloody hell. Marti not having Ashby giving it away constantly for ten minutes. Our manager has a cold side alright |

Fkin hell In that passage of play Ashby must have given it away five times in five minutes. I find it hard to warm to him [Post edited 21 Jan 21:29]

Alfie Lloyd’s sub chaos is great to have. Must be a nightmare to defend, nobody (including us or him) knows what he’s going to do |

Nice to see us having a bit of possession in an away game for once. Can’t fault the tackling, we look solid. Edwards looks like a quality loan (and badly needed looking at the bench) Hull not as cr-p as I hoped He’s to a Jimmy Dunne winner on 90 |

Atmosphere feels like a pre season friendly judging by the pictures (albeit with sh-t fireworks and lights) Fair play to anyone there tonight, especially after Plymouth. What a mission [Post edited 21 Jan 19:41]

Poor Morgan Whitaker. High profile move to play and live in Rome for an iconic team, or rack and stack in Scott Parker’s 0-0 Burnley collective with a few minutes here and there Feel for him |

I’ve played a load of different sports in my life (not so much these days as I’m a stressed middle aged dad) and there’s no doubt in my mind 11-a-side football at a decent level is the most brutal, requires both insane fitness and also luck in how your body is made up to deal with it. Constantly twisting, sprinting, tackling, jumping plus the mental side of never switching off, it’s brutal and I’ve never been so knackered as in the last 10 mins of a decent game of football as playing any other sport And I was a muppet playing amateur league stuff Modern football at our level must be so punishing, it’s nothing like the 80s. Rugby league is the only other one I reckon compares. Squash was also knackering! Meanwhile I’m 50 now and after playing a round of golf on Sunday I’m aching like a good un [Post edited 20 Jan 23:05]

That's an ominous surname. Hopefully no relation to the ex-Chelsea toerag? |

I feel bad but I did say as Celar limped off in that home game it might have been a blessing. I know he was starting to get the odd goal but his all round play is non existent |

Particularly remarkable as in that one defeat we were absolutely shite, and we’ve sprinkled some absolutely woeful halves of football in there as well It does feel like we’re getting more consistent now though, we haven’t had a calamity half since Swansea. |

Fair play to Gary Rowett - Oxford beat Blackburn today and are in a run similar to ours. They were absolutely diabolical against us, I thought they were destined to go down. Decent managers make a difference |

Nothing wrong with a toe punt if it gets the job done, that was a great finish I was a bit cynical about Kolli’s supposed greatness last season but happy to eat my words, he’s put away some fine goals already and looks like a proper finisher. With the new contract it’s going to be great watching him progress. Brilliant ball to Saito near the end as well, plus him and Chair are clearly on the old wavelength that Chair and Eze used to have |
| Forum Reply | A game abroad - any recommendations at 09:50 18 Jan 2025
Random one but the best game abroad I’ve been to is the Rome derby. Electric atmosphere, amazing stadium built by Mussolini in his pomp and you get to go to Rome, incredible city. Was v easy to get tickets locally but admittedly that was in 1997 |

Feels like a nice barometer game while we hover so blatantly in middle table after the last few let’s face it fairly unenjoyable years. Big win would mean a lot |
