Seems that Monk gets idiotic criticism when a PLAYER gets a red, so now that we didn't get a red against Southampton, can we now praise him for a player not getting a red? Cheers
Thought it's a half decent topic to talk about! Looking at man uniteds tremendous away support at west brom made me think about ours compared to them. They didn't stop singing from the first minute to the last. They do it every away game, Singing and dancing in the concourses like a party atmosphere.
NOT having a go at our away support, thought ours was excellent at stoke (in terms of noise) but I often wonder why we don't travel in numbers compared to most prem teams. Obviously history plays a part which we have little compared to most clubs, but I thought being in the prem we would sell out most aways, although unfortunately we don't.
Do we lack in numbers because we are so far away from most clubs? Takes at least 1 hour to get out of Wales, and so because it takes so long to get to most places (average 4 hours) it can be very expensive in fuel/coach/train prices. The midlands teams must have it the easiest, being in the middle of most clubs.
Everton are taking approx. 16,000 fans to Lille on Thursday night. Do you think we would take anywhere near that? What are other peoples thoughts on our away support? Should it be better? Or is it good considering we are a relatively small club?
Got my ticket but could only get the upper tier, so in assuming that we had only asked for/been given the upper, does anyone know how much It holds? Pretty disappointing that we only have the upper, thought there would have been a big demand for tickets especially after United!
Also what are they like with flags? Can you hang them from the upper? Have they got to be a certain size? I know united hung a few when they have been there but not sure if anything has changed since. Didn't bother taking them to United because they are strict with them plus would have been nowhere to put them.
So with some close(ish) pre season away games, to two classic old school grounds, how much of a following do you think we will take? As good as this?
Rangers at Sheffield Wednesday last season in pre season, outstanding support. Look at the flags covering the corner stand to the right. I just don't see how they can get 95% of their fans to be in such a party atmosphere for a friendly! Amazing support
Fair play a brilliant and well thought of song by man united fans, it's called united calypso, think it was an old song but they have started singing it again over last few months. Oh how I wish our lot could pull a unique song off like this but instead we have to copy boring crystal palace songs! Or swans will tear you apart again, which is sometimes sung when we are drawing which is embarrasing and even worse, it is sung after we already lost to the team earlier on in the season!
Anyway take a look at this, it's not that long but was united at Southampton on Sunday
I know it happens quite often, us posting about what they have to say, but please read the first post and then the last.. Whoever jackf is, you sure made me smile! Hahahaha
Thought it was awesome at times! It was up there with Cardiff for me, although might have seemed louder than actually was because I am near north east corner. Also thought that SCFC SCFC SCFC song was very cringey by copying crystal palace!
People saying on twitter that Southampton fans were class but I didn't think they were that good at all, very average.
Been before when we took 2500 in championship, can't remember if there was many flags, but as we are taking less there this time, there might be room for some? I'm taking 2 so just wondering if it'll be worth taking them from the hotel to ground. Cheers
Never been Everton before so wondering if there will be places to put flags? Unsure if ticket is in upper or lower as my mate has got it. Probably be lower though can't see us selling top aswell.
What do people think Monk is going to do with Napoli on Thursday?
Obviously he's going to put out his strongest 11 against Napoli so does that mean players will be rested on Sunday? If he does I hope it's not as bad as the Everton starting 11, although I know we didn't play too bad against them.
I think Taylor will deffinatly start to give Ben a rest but unsure about others!
Follow follow follow, Cos Garry Monk's our hero, He came from the back, Now leads the jack attack, And ...... (We'll never be looking back?)
Haha, thought it was decent myself, better than singing that song with no words!
As you can see I can't think of the last line but anyone have suggestions? Or just say if it's sh1te if you like I just wanted to see if it was any good?
If anyone is unsure of the tune this is man united singing to the same time at Stoke, although they are singing about Chelsea. Thought it's a decent song!!
Just tried getting tickets online but It wouldn't let me so rang them up and they said its because we've sold out our initial allocation. But they are releasing more tickets tonight/tomorow morning.
