That’s more than ample as you say.
It’s a neat stadium and the people there were always more than welcoming but beware of the parking. There is a car park there but there’s no real alternative - the ground is literally surrounded by fields and there is nowhere to park on the main road which doesn’t even have a footpath.
There used to be a park and ride service from the railway station at Leamington Spa on matchdays but I don’t know if this facility is still available. It’s around three to four miles from the station. |

I actually know this ground as the firm I used to work for had it’s UK HQ just down the road and did a fair bit of sponsorship there.
It is in the countryside though miles from the nearest large town and Lord knows where the nearest pub is.
It’s terraced all the way round to a depth of 10/15 steps with a stand holding a couple of hundred seats down one side.
The dressing rooms and a social area about the size of the Dale Bar are behind the posts at the end of the ground nearest to the main road.
Having said all that they’ve entertained the likes of Stockport and York in league matches in the last ten seasons or so and could cope with reasonable away followings then.
It’s a well run club which has held its own in NLN.
Not sure what their average attendance is these days but I can see it being all ticket. |

Boston weren’t in the bottom four when we went on the first game of the season so perhaps motivation wasn’t as issue that day. |

Statistically yes. When I look at the players in that squad they don’t seem to bad though!
The 1973/74 team was in a higher division as well. |

The squad is far too too heavy in terms of wide players.
The problem isn’t perhaps tactical flexibility but motivation at long distance away fixtures. |

I think Bob Scott arrived in the summer of 1978.
I had the likes of Brian Hart, Billy Boslem and Ted Oliver in mind. |

I always think of the one in 1977/78 in this context.
The club was on it’s uppers and we only had 14 players plus a couple of apprentices. |

The full name of the firm was Montague Burton. In its heyday their biggest factory in Leeds was producing 30000 suits a week.
Apparently the phrase “the full Monty” originated here. Most men just bought a jacket and trousers but if you had a waistcoat as well you ordered the full Monty. |

I was derided on another thread earlier this year when there was a managerial vacancy elsewhere for suggesting that McNulty may be in the frame for that job.
Managers come and go though and professional footballers just get on with the job in the vast majority of cases.
My only worry is that the longer serving members of the current board don’t have a great track record in managerial appointments BJ excepting.

First of all well done to the club for the Remembrance Day tribute before the game.
Silence also impeccably observed and Littleborough Band playing “Tipperary” was quite moving.
Ryan East was deserved MOM and he seemed to have more freedom today, especially in the first half, with Henry playing deeper in a tweaked formation.
And East managed to be perhaps the smallest person to score a header at the Sandy Lane end since Billy Rudd performed the feat against Mansfield virtually 44 years to the date.
If Dale had conceded that goal there would have been harsh words on here though.
The team was immeasurably better with TAR on the right and there was some lovely link play from Gordon and McBride to give him crossing opportunities.
However….for the third successive home league game there was a feeling that BJ isn’t getting an optimum performance from the team. We just don’t seem to throw bodies into the box early enough.
The introduction of Hendo improved things; Dennis looked off the pace.
Like the Halifax game today was down to effort and perseverance. You can’t fault the players for commitment or spirit. |

Can’t really make head nor tail of the latest events in the Gigg soap opera.
A respected volunteer has been sacked by the CEO and a board member before being reinstated and a press release issued stating that this had been a mistake?
More action off the pitch rather than on it yet again. |
