Other reports I have seen suggest Juan will go to Goztepe, after joining Saints.
I forgot they were out of contract. There was talk of trying to get Welington before his contract ends (and paying a fee), as other clubs were interested. [Post edited 27 Jul 13:11]

I don't understand why we need to do this. Hoping someone can enlighten me. Is it just some financial game by the owners ?
These are not kids to loan out and get experience they are 23 and have played at a good level.
Why don't Goztepe just buy them if they are not ready for Saints, rather than impact our financial fair play record ? |

This is partially correct. It is only an issue in the state of California, having Harris and Newsom on same ticket.
There is a work around, if one of them changed their residency, which has been done before , with Dick Cheney.
It will be interesting how this pans out with California a big prize. His record in California is not that good, he isn't that popular especially with the proposal for reparation awards for slavery, in a state that didn't allow slaves ?
Trump would have a field day with Newsom and some of the woke policies he supports. |

This doesn't make sense to draw this transfer saga out.
Fraser did well for us when he first arrived, but towards the end of season, he had mixed performances.
I don't think Saints need to go over board on this one, just let Newcastle play hard ball. They will be back with a realistic offer as we get closer to the window closing. I also don't see Saints getting into a bidding war with other clubs for him. It will be good if he signs, but not the end of the world if he doesn't. [Post edited 22 Jul 11:38]

Totally agree with your comments.
They are also banned in the. US, Spain, Mexico, France, and Italy.
Not sure if this will have any ramifications if our games are shown on TV in these countries.
Roll on end of 25/26 season when these sort of deals are banned. |

The transfer window is going to be a difficult one for Saints. We all know we need to add strength all over the park from Keeper, CB's, defender and strikers. To get the proven quality at this level will cost a lot, and if we go down this road we will fall foul of FFP rules (even if we had the money).
I am pleased with Saints getting their business done early, as it will take time to mould them into Martin's way of playing.
Looking at the signing so far, they look like good business, and if reports are to be believed a number of clubs were also interested.
We are going to have to accept that it will be a case of buying some senior players and unproven quality players. [Post edited 6 Jul 7:05]

Farage finally found an easy seat after trying in 7 different constituencies. (Thanet twice).
Perhaps Clacton will now be twinned with Washington DC when/If Trump gets in, given his friendship with Trump. |

I assume Farage will move to where his constituents are - Clacton ? There is plenty of housing in Jaywick which is part of his constituency.
Lowe will also enjoy Great Yarmouth.

I agree, we can't afford £30m on a new keeper, but it wouldn't take too much to improve significantly on McCarthy or Bazunu. Even around the £10m mark. [Post edited 5 Jul 15:10]

This sums up the dire situation we are in over the goal keeper position, when McCarthy becomes the preferred option. He has his moments ,but has shown he is not consistent, especially over a long season. |

I visited 18 months ago. Went over for Christmas markets.
Both Auschwitz and Salt mines are a must visit. Both accessible by bus, but check time tables and make sure bus you get stops at Auschwitz, not all busses to Oświęcim stop there. I recommend getting tickets in advance (Just visit bus station in town). I recall a long wait to get back to Krakow and bus was busy.
There is a train to Auschwitz, but station (Oświęcim)is about 2km away. from Auschwitz ( If there are 3 or 4 of you, Uber is an option from Krakow.
Depending on time of year, it may be worth also getting Auschwitz and Salt mines tickets in advance. I think there are different tickets/entry times depending on whether you have a guide or want to go alone ?
Birkenau is about 3 km away from Auschwitz 1. There is a shuttle between 2.
For drinks and eats, the Jewish Quarter is well worth a visit. I stayed between Main square and Jewish quarter (approx 20 mins apart)

Just flicked through I-Player and watched her. OMG, she was bad. Never been to Glasto, but did 5 V festivals in the past and I think these were a lot better (and cheaper).
Couldn't believe Shania Twain was 58, but I definitely could see Cindi Lauper was 71. Why do they feel the drag people like Cindi Lauper from their care homes, when there is so much talent out there ? [Post edited 30 Jun 20:23]

Its well documented that I am no fan of Stephens, but throughout the season, he was criticised when we needed a leader on the pitch. Captain Kane has almost gone into hiding, yet you rarely see any criticism of his captaincy. Perhaps the players cant hear Kane from the side lines ? [Post edited 30 Jun 17:42]

1-0 down, being run ragged, giving ball away, but its not all bad, we have 70% possession !!
We have a striker who thinks he is playing in mid field or on wing.
opponents have more attempts in their small amount of possession.

There was no need to do this, he still had 2 years left on his contract. We should have at least waited to see how he performs in the Premiership. He also needs to lose some of the arrogance and stubbornness, when things don't for right.
None of the top 8 were ever likely to be trying to poach him, so why now ? |
