While I am not pessimistic, we have only played one top side. Will be happier after 10 games or more realistically 19 when things will start to even out, especially if we are still in the top 6.
On the subject of the none day off for the team. I sensed they were a little jaded at the beginning of the game against QPR and some of the flicks and passes were not quite there, but they made up for that second half. |

Agree with man of the match, but everyone played well.
My only thought was that with Mane on the pitch Tadjic plays on the right and I feel the side is much better balanced with Tadjic on the left and Long on the right.
Still a ground out win and having been on the end of some muggings in the past it is a welcome result.

One of the reasons for Saints relative success last year was the team spirit and the team playing for each other. Much of the spirit was forged during the league one years, back to back promotions and the loyalty of players like SRL, AL, MS, LS etc. Unfortunately the want aways do not always recognise this and their future performances may not be as good as when part of that team.
Against this, the much of the team spirit was probably engendered by MoPo and could be why so many want to leave now he has gone.
Difficult situation now for Saints as losing so many of the team may take some time to re-establish the spirit. We can only wait and hope things get better in the transfer window.

I agree with MoPo's decision to start with Wanyama ahead of Cork to give him game time. If hWanyama had pulled up or been really of the pace, he had Cork fully fit and able to replace him. The other way round would have been a risk, taking off a fit player and replacing with him with someone who might have not been fully fit or not up to speed. I think MoPo planned a half for each.

It does appear that Katharina has a bit more grace than Nicola. She has at least thanked him for his contribution to the club. (Unlike the disgraceful sackings of Adkins and Pardew).
Why does Pochettino have to leave?
If he does, he shows more loyalty to Nicola than Nicola did to any of his previous managers. Hopefully everyone will calm down, let the dust settle and make any decisions at the end of the season when things are clearer.
