He inherited it from his Father. He’s never had a proper job. Says a lot.
What I still can’t get my head around, even after all these years, is that Fernandes runs a massive airline and yet was by faaaaar the worst of the lot of them with no apparent business acumen or common sense. Ultimately it’s his fault that we are where we are today.
Things will not change until the club is sold to different owners.
I don’t think anything will really change until we get new owners. Despite keeping us financially afloat in every other respect Fernandes, Ruben and Amit have been utterly clueless in running a football club and that has filtered down and pervades everything about us. Nourry is just the latest example of their incompetence.
Even if JCS is fit there’s an argument that you could play Field at left back 8nstead of Paal. Fields complete lack of any forward momentum, creativity in midfield and tendency to hoof has been one of the reasons we’ve struggled. I’ve said for some time that Field is far better suited to playing in defence.
I’ve been critical of some of Celar’s lack of movement but just thought I’d post this to offer a slightly different perspective from the pitchfork and torch laden mob who want him slung out of the club already.
I thought Smyth was by some distance our best player. Very good cross for Morgan’s goal and three or four other really good crosses that Celar should have got nearer to. Why he was taken off is a mystery.
I’d agree with you about Cellar but Smyth put a great ball into the box and Cellar didn’t do anything to get close to it or get across the defender. I’m still not writing him off though.
Yes really. It is a low bar admittedly compared to that donkey Varane but I think he’s playing well. He’s spread the play about well and looked to be progressive. I like him.
I think Colback may have just been un lucky to get two cards in quick succession for talking to the ref considering that other teams have players who are constantly in the refs ear. Of course we’ll never know what he actually said but a seasoned pro like Colback should know where the line is.
We need a horrible player like Travis in our team to get in the refs face and show a bit of niggle and physicality. In fact we could do with eleven players like that. We’re way too nice as a team. Something that has been said (by you on here) for season after season.
Also if the ball touches the ref accidentally does he have to stop the game or can he play on? If the latter, then I’m surprised there’s been no mention of Pawsons decision to not play on and stop the game just we were embarking on a swift and promising counter attack a la Millwall.
