Super new U's to start with impressive win at Plough Lane
at 09:55 11 Aug 2024

With Taylor injured, Brad only passed fit just before kick off and Samson not fully fit no wonder we struggled.. Why not play Tom Hopper up front and play Samson and Tovide for half the game each. I don't think Wilkinson has been at the club all pre season, he is gone as far as we are concerned, he wasn't happy when he was told he could find another club when he had only been here a few months.

Dodgy looking rumour, from a suspect poster on X/Twitter this morning, I highly doubt it is true but I would be surprised and gutted if he went there instead of us, always assuming we are trying to sign him of course! Bromley FC are close to adding Lincoln City midfielder Alistair Smith to their ranks after agreeing a £100k deal.

The midfielder who impressed on loan in League Two last season at Colchester United is keen to make a permanent move with plenty of first team football.

Contract has been agreed, player to undergo a medical.

Rumoured to be £200K for Mingi plus a sell on percentage and £4-500K for Fevrier with a 20% sell on.

Taken from a Wycombe forum. In addition, there is some wringing of hands from our other friends in Essex. Our interest in Arthur Read (Midfielder), 24, appears to be genuine and serious. Matt Bloomfield signed him from Stevenage in January 2023, just six weeks before escaping purgatory.

Rumours were that Matt Bloomfield was in for Read to take him to Wycombe, Stockport were very keen on Fevrier, not sure about Anderson, he is a decent player but can we keep him fit?

Lots of clubs including Tranmere are in for this guy Keena, it has been said Sligo don’t want to lose him and have already turned down a bid from Tranmere. No doubt he will go to the highest bidder if he leaves at all, he is contracted until mid 2024.

Well said Durham and Noah, I too think Robbie has lost the plot, so many fans of very long standing are walking away and not coming back any time soon. We are heading into a similar situation to the Jonathan Crisp era and we all know what happened then. What a shame that the big return to live football has been ruined by one mans ego, the players must feel deflated walking out to thousands of empty seats and little atmosphere.

446 of those 2772 were Northampton fans so our attendance was shocking but I fear much worse is coming unless we improve fast.

I think Robbie will stick with the current system this season in case covid restrictions return in the winter months.

Very sad, I remember John a very decent defender, I used to work with his daughter Jackie in the 1990s and early 2000’s. RIP John.

Joe Dunne has gone, he went as soon as Wayne did, he was told his services were no longer required even though he was woking for free, a case of too many cooks I presume.
