To reply to another post, they didn't call it a day - they were most certainly pushed. I think Moyles may have wanted to go on his own terms.

As others have said, the 6:30 - 7:00 was just ace drivel. I've switched to XFM and quite liking that.

6:30-7:00 made early get ups for long trips for work far more abideable, many a time I've chuckled down the M6 as they chatted rubbish in the first half hour. Totally agree on the faux arrogance.

Of the millions who've apparently stopped listening, how many are in the target demographic of 1FM? I'm guessing the majority are outside of it.

Chris Moyles never bothered me too much unless he was talking about Football and then he annoyed me like that Tim Lovejoy fella did. He wasn't a patch on Mark and Lard though. Biggidy biggidy bong so it is.

I'm still trying to understand why this should be an issue when we're considering BBC Radio, it's not a private radio station beholden to advertisers etc.

I didnt get why bringing in millions of extra listeners who now listen to commercial station is a bad thing and equally why losing these listeners is excusable purely because of demographics. To me, the whole of the UK should be Radio 1's demographic.

You're spot in about him/lovejoy and football. Dave however is a home and away follower of Everton since he lost his job.

I've never been a fan of Chris Moyles, but I could never ignore his audience figures. Grimshaw is still pulling in a very impressive audience, but that will soon change I'd imagine.

Besides, why are we having this discussion? Radio 1 is an awful station. Come on, we're all better than this!
