Steve Cooper was a hugely popular figure at the club between 2019 and 2021. He led the Swans into the play-offs twice, ultimately failing to gain promotion on both occasions.

Despite leading Nottingham Forest to an unlikely promotion into the Premier League after leaving the club, his managerial career has taken a downturn in recent times.

He was fired by Forest after poor performances on their return to the top division and lasted just 15 games in charge of Leicester this season.

Despite this, he is the 6/5 favourite to return to the Swansea.com Stadium.

Page A Surprise Contender

Robert Page is the surprise name towards the head of the markets offered by betting apps.

Some fans would be happy with the former Wales national team manager's appointment, but others would be concerned about his lack of experience as a club boss.

Page enjoyed some success with Wales, managing the team at the 2022 World Cup and just missing out on qualification for Euro 2024.

His only experience at club management came with Port Vale and Northampton, but despite this inexperience, football betting sites have him priced as the 2/1 second favourite for the Swansea job.

Could Martin Make A Return?

Cooper is not the only former boss being linked with a return to the club, but Russell Martin would be a controversial choice to succeed Williams in the Swansea dugout.

When he left Swansea for Southampton in 2023, he faced the ire of many fans, but some supporters will fondly remember his time there.

Martin's style of play is exactly what Swans fans want to see, so it would be no surprise if he were to return to the club to continue a project he began in 2021.

He is priced at 5/2 to take up the job for a second time.

If you had to pick from this list who would you want?

Think of the team we have at their disposal when choosing.
Rob page being mentioned is making me feel sick tbh

Tells me one thing to be honest if the bookie is making the list I think our Lukey has given his last empty press conference of calling the lads crap.

I think if it happens it will be a manager that has been out of work for a long time. Some like Nathan Jones you been gone to long. Rooney as a rank outsider to get some revenue in the club shop when it is open.

No way would we put Jones in charge remember Watson lost the fan’s confidence just hanging out with the guy.

Perhaps Monty was brought here to help with the manger search.
If Coleman was to do it hisself and it went belly up he knows he could only hang on to power for so long.

I miss Huw Jenkins at times like this we always knew the next manger would be as good if not better.

Since Bobby bradly it’s been down hill all the way 😭

Even Mike Bassett would turn his nose up at the prospect of managing us with Coleman at the helm, as for Cooper that's a complete nonstarter.

Seems to be doing a good job at Charlton.
Not that I want to see him here though.

I would take Sean Dyche any day of the week
However he won't come to us in a month of Sundays
As for Cooper - didn't like him first time around

Martin...absolutely not...Page, I'd prefer Martin.

Cooper, would he come back, would he trust the American owner after the way the first lot treated him?

Sean Dyche, he'd sort us out but I doubt he'd come here.

Not sure who I'd prefer to be honest. Somebody, whoever it may be, who is capable. Sort out the defence, stop us losing to start with (hopefully quickly) and then have us creating more.
There is a lot of work to do, even more than should have been needed because Williams should have been sacked after the WBA nonsense.

Football under Cooper was pretty dire to watch , even though we got to the Playoff final , where we were absolutely shocking.
We need a new face in , not a past manager, someone who can look at the squad with an open mind and new ideas to play a way that best suits what we have but on the front foot and tight at the back , I don’t think the squad is really that bad ,it’s just the way Williams is setting them up to play and it looks like the players have given up on him,as have the fans.anything is better than what we are being served up at the moment.
Plymouth look a different team after a change and Moyes has turned Everton around ,so it can be done,we have a new DOF ,who should be scouring the leagues home and away for the right fit
but a change needs to happen now.

Sean Dyche would be a dream come true to be honest.

He would get a tune out of this squad.

It would be mad if Monty is brought here then Williams is sacked
That he is trying to achieve.
Luke will be lucky to get a league one gig after us.
Notts county fans saying his football was outstanding shows how crap they really are 😂.

I wondered about the first two myself. A bit of a gamble but both probably within our financial means.

A lot of dreamers on here - Sean Dyche ffs, if our chairman grew a pair and sacked the imposter we have atm Coleman would only go out and get the cheapest option he could find, as someone quite rightly pointed out on another thread we've have spent the last 13 yrs in the Prem and Championship and we end up employing a DOF from a team that was in the National League 2 seasons ago.

I don’t think anyone on here thinks that Dyche would come here even if we could afford him. It’s just the type of manager we need, a no nonsense character who the players would respect.

The antithesis to our current incumbent.

A sensible person who ran a football club would look at what the current manager is doing and losing the club financially. And the long term effect of even potential relegation, loss of sponsors, already happening and be more thoughtful about a manager like Dyche.

They could weigh off the expenditure over time set against current and projected losses, but they won’t because they want everything on the cheap. Hence Montague.
