Dhanda Racist Abuse on 12:09 - Feb 11 by Neath_Jack
A perfect example of why taking the knee will continue.
Where’s all those posters that reckoned there isn’t any racism in football? I see one poster has already tried to fob it off in this thread.
I don’t think anyone has said there is no racism in football, have they? That’s why we have kick it out which everyone backs, a very worthy cause. The knee is connected to police brutality in the States being targeted towards people of colour, which is a dangerous lie that has put good people in danger for political gain.
There is lots of racism in football, especially in Italy, Spain and Turkey. But I haven’t seen anyone deny it. Against most races too may I add, the amount of times I have heard the “gypo” chant is off the scale. Romany Gypsies are probably the most persecuted race in Europe that face actual segregation, denied access to certain establishments and stereotyped wherever they go. There was an Irish player from a traveller family that received this often, can’t remember who it was (was it Robbie Keane?). But it’s oddly accepted.
Just be kind to everyone. Easy.

Welsh people cannot suffer racist abuse because they’re not a different race. We are generally white Caucasians just like our Anglo-Saxon fellow residents of these islands. Cultural or nationalistic abuse yes, but we give it as well as take it. Doesn’t bother me one iota. This is all a bit dated of course because the U.K. is now a diverse package of all different races and colours.
'Race' is a sociological term and can mean anything you wish to define it as. Scientifically there in only one race - human. But, a supremisist definition is often used by some extremists to excuse their racism, 'The world population can be divided into 4 major races, namely white/Caucasian, Mongoloid/Asian, Negroid/Black, and Australoid. This is based on a racial classification made by Carleton S. Coon in 1962. Although he had and still has many supporters, his work has was (and has been ever since) connected with providing a 'scientific basis' for racial segregation in the USA. Until the emergence of a gene for light skin around, 8 - 9 thousand years ago in this part of the world, Europeans would have been dark skinned. So indigenous British have been naturally dark skinned for about 4 times longer than we have been light. Also, at the time of Roman rule and the first chunking of areas into what is recognisably regions and nations of Great Britain the population is thought to have been at least 20% overseas born. (But don't let the racists know many of these people wer not white!!!)
I heard Yan Dhanda receiving pretty awful racist abuse from one or two of our own fans when he came off the bench for his debut v Sheffield Utd two seasons ago.
They soon shut up though.

Also when we played Tranmere at Prenton Park when one of our own "fingered" the cretin.
Welsh are no less racist than anyone on thee islands.

So all celts are red headed ,fair skinned.
You need to consider the inbreeding then over the centuries.
The Nazis were very concerned about pure blood.
"So all celts are red headed ,fair skinned." No.
Celtic people on this Isle have a greater ginger pigment in their genes. Clearly more so in Ireland rather than Wales They are subjected to vile abuse from far right English fascists at football games often associated with agressive and violent intent. One terrifying fellow i saw at Hereford was showing signs of some type of substance abuse. 'Banter' you must be joking.
The south Wales Constabulary need to stamp it out. I am concerned about Dhanda and Guehi of course but also my own people. Naturally the SWP would prefer not really to get involved because it wuld involve some of their officers getting a shiner or two. English facsists do not accept the law of the land without a scuffle at least. On the other hand why talk about "ZERO tolerance" if you do not mean it.
Dhanda Racist Abuse on 12:20 - Feb 11 by onehunglow
Sense. Are people down there seriously suggesting someone -white- from Neath is different genetically to someone from Gateshead? Nah.
Dhanda is asian and the abuse is racial.
Asian people are not very “different genetically” to us either. We all share 99% of our DNA with chimps. Every single one of us. Any differences are minor at most. We are all human.
The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
Dhanda Racist Abuse on 11:56 - Feb 11 by ReslovenSwan1
Welsh people get racist abuse every week but this is not considered worthy of reporting by the media. Welsh peole get 'porno racism'. Now I accept many fans brush it off as banter but almost all of us have seen the ugly side of the sheep banter with violent intent and threatening posturing.
Many fans say "I am not offended". Thats is up to them. I am offended and I represent only perhap only a minority but that is enough. I call on the South Wales constabulary to make a few arrests of the English far right head cases who have strutted their stuff on Welsh soil for far too long.
I do not accept the battered wife syndrome of "we are just as much to blame".
Authorities should not talk 'zero tolerance' if they do not mean it.
Jesus, comparing racist abuse to someone going “bah” to you? You’re offended, really? Cos it’s just like dehumanising people isn’t it? This is the mentality of a grown up man, no wonder society is f*cked.

Correct. They hate the knee on here yet not one can give a rational explanation besides ‘Marxism, blah, blah, politics in football, blah, blah....” which of course is bullsh!t but they can’t be honest about the real reasons.

It’s a curious anomaly that the legislation seeks to make ‘discrimination’ based on citizenship a criminal offence when you can’t put yourself forward for election as a legislator here unless you are a UK citizen.
The law is an ass Loh, should always be applied at the end of any legislation 😉
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Maybe certain posters do but that’s democracy, but collectively it would be wrong to say ‘ They hate the knee on here’ That’s inaccurate ðŸ‘

The reasons are clear and have been explained very patiently and in great detail. What you mean is you don’t understand the reasons, which is fine. But because you don’t understand something doesn’t make it wrong.
If you won’t take anyone on here explaining it to you. Nottingham Forest player Lyle Taylor (who is black) does it pretty well.
But why people are bringing up the knee which is an American gesture against the accusation of racist police being violent against African Americans into a thread regarding the racist abuse of one of our Asian players I’ll never know. People just enjoy conflict I guess.

You are one of the many apologists for English fascism. English far right fascists high as kites full of aggressive violent intent cannot come to Wales with their racist slurs and blatenty break the law and strut their stuff.
You accept racial abuse that is your choice. A minoriy of us do not especially with family and children present. I have zero tolerance. That is just me. You can giggle at the slurs if you like. Each to their own.

Because out of those hundreds of footballers who choose to take the knee before the game, many are doing so as generic gesture against racism.
I'm sure there are some who continue to see it as specificaly linked to the BLM organisation, but there are more who are just agreeing with the statement 'Black Lives Matter'.

The statement isn’t capitalised, what you wrote is the organisation. That’s the issue, people can’t seperate them, yet they are wildly different.
As Dhanda has shown, racism isn’t just against one particular race. So not even the statement is fit for purpose when it comes to this. Dhanda isn’t black, Eastwood isn’t black (thanks to the above poster) yet both were racially abused. Racism comes in all forms, not just one.
Kick it Out encompasses all.

Well I’m not offended by people making sheep noises at me for sure. I am troubled by racism though, and people watering oppression down by trivialising it by comparing it to some knuckle dragger saying “bah” to you. Kind of think your compass is off just a bit.

Couple of points -
The Equality Act 2010 says you cannot be discriminated against because of your race, colour, nationality or citizenship, or your ethnic or national background.
And -
The term 'hate crime' can be used to describe a range of criminal behaviour where the perpetrator is motivated by hostility or demonstrates hostility towards the victim's disability, race, religion, sexual orientation or transgender identity.
Plus -
The criminal act concurs with my first point The Act says a "racial group" means a "group of persons defined by reference to race, colour, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origins."
This is prescribed in law -
The Welsh (Welsh: Cymru) are a Celtic nation and ethnic group native to Wales. "Welsh people" applies to those who were born in Wales (Welsh: Cymru) and to those who have Welsh ancestry, perceiving themselves or being perceived as sharing a cultural heritage and shared ancestral origins.
To say being from wales means you can’t be racially abused is complete and utter nonsense. This isn’t just an observation, it’s fact.

It really depends how thin-skinned you are. People who take offence at being called 'Taffs' (and there are such people) think nothing of referring to 'thick Scouser's or 'fat Geordies'. The one thing about these islands is that there are lots of regional animosities and they tend to show themselves mostly through sport. Best to let it wash and if required, give as good as you get. It's a funny thing but the most unsuitable people throw the most unsuitable insults - some fat lardarse will spend the whole match lambasting a slim, fit , fast player for a whole match for being a 'useless heap of sh**'. Irony is not their strong point! I treat all such insults equally dismissively. Oh, and I have never considered myself a different race. Curious.

Its not just saying 'bah' to me though is it. It calling me a effing Welsh sheep......... etc with violent intent to groups including women and children. The sheep noises then take a new significance.
Is a making monkey noises to a black player OK with you as well? I see no differnce. In fact it is the same bone heads doing it.
You may accept it as the lower end of the racist spectrum but the good people organising opposition to this type of behaviour are encouraging people to show ZERO tolerance.
