Fck me it's getting scary now 23:05 - May 2 with 8167 viewsWxmJax

I had a look on the BBC website today to see what the daily death total was. I assumed that it would be the main headline. Nope, not even worthy of a mention in the 10 news items that were on the front page. It was on the Sky and ITV websites but could only be found on the BBC web pages amongst a story on Spain.

WTF is happening ? The national broadcaster appears to be sweeping it under the carpet.

There is a 16 year old from Aber who is doing a far better job than the whole of the BBC.

Lloyd - very well done young man.
BBC have turned into a genuine state broadcaster, all flags, royalty bollox, and a johnson love in.

Noticed the same a few weeks back. Entirely different reporting on Italy a few weeks prior.

This government are now going to ease things, even though there were well over 600 deaths again. Mad.

It's the same every day. It's all contained within the daily 'coronavirus' update which you have to scroll down to find the timeline of the days news. A bit like if you're following the events of the days football on a Saturday afternoon (When we had one of course). It's extremely poor reporting of what should be the days headline news.

It's running at between 650/750 a day now unfortunately.

Looking at around 30k by Tuesday.

And we have " herd immunity" to look forward to...

Sky new's coverage most of this afternoon focused on Italy and Spain, and a lot of it was rehashed from over a month ago. Obviously i wasn't paying much attention to it as i was on the dark web trying to buy the latest assault machine gun to protect my home, and stash of Heinz chicken soup for when the 2nd wave comes, and the economic doom that a 'no deal' Brexit will bring.

When the Govt massage the figures b on a weekly basis, when the BBC refuse to give clear figures there has to be concern and a lack of trust in authority. Instead of journalists being fixated with inane ā€œWhat is the route map out of lockdownā€ maybe they should actually carry out some investigative journalism to reveal....whatever.

Thought provoking for sure. Sweden coming in for increasing criticism though. They have blind faith in authorities based on a cultural sense of superiority. Didnā€™t get involved in WW2 , the whole neutrality thing etc. Were clever and forward thinking in the sixties and seventies but these days theyā€™re into a slavish following of junk US culture. Having said all that their treatment of older people puts the UK to shame.

The main thing I'm concerned about is that the more I look on social media the vast majority are crying out for stop the lock down, that's fair enough! I understand the frustration, but unless other elements are put in place, if the UK, do it too early!!, We will be back in the same boat. and the first lock down would have been a waste of time!

I think we are looking at late July/ August, and that is being optimistic .

Cities are high-
As one would expect. RCT top of the prevalence. Taffpunk may comment as being based in Tonypandy, but through friends and family have heard of lockdown being very lax in upper Rhondda with bbqs and parties. Almost natural selection .

Roads here much busier yesterday too

The rate is 409 -here. Much higher than the adjacent regions of North Wales but also partly due to larger towns/cities in Chester and Warrington and overspill from Liverpool and Wirral which were early hotspots
