Matt Hancock talking Horlicks... on 14:24 - Mar 6 with 3448 views | Catullus | Give it half an hour and you'll see the funny side. If Hancock is talking Horlicks then I'm off for a Bovril If the predictions are even close to correct we will see shortages. Panic buying doesn't help. Maybe shops should already be rationing certain foodstuffs?

No panic-buying or empty shelves in Neath, then again it isn’t overrun with over-excitable foreigners.

” One executive said...” What executive? Who is he? Of course supply chain managers have been involved in COBRA planning meetings. Good grief! Is this “executive” irked because he didn’t get an invite to the top table, Peg? Does he exist?

This one is quite interesting as the BBC changed the story on the PM programme to say that the government and British Retail Consortium have been in discussions all week with no mention of Hancock. [Post edited 6 Mar 2020 18:50]

Surely you're not suggesting it's fake news? Surely nobody would make something like this up to score a political point? Well not unless they are a leave voting Bojo supporter (who isn't actually a bojo supporter but didn't vote for Corbyn so is branded as such) who obviously missed too much school. Is that too much sarcasm?

This is where we are when, if Bojo said water was wet he would be called a liar and based on his record you can understand why. It's hard to see where the lies end and the truth begins. Though ask many people and they'll always know when Bojo is lying because his lips are moving. For myself, I tend to apply that rules to all politicians and I'm possibly not alone in that.

I'm not sure what's going on as I said earlier, the BBC have changed their story on the PM Programme this evening. So make of that what you will.

The supermarkets have confirmed that there have been “general” discussions with officials but not specific discussions on how food would get to masses of people who may be forced to self isolate on government advice. Which I believe is what Hancock said on QT last night. [Post edited 6 Mar 2020 19:15]

The interesting thing is that this was the top story on the website in the afternoon and a lead story on the radio and at 5pm they were promoting the discussions between the BRC and the Government, quite a change. The Hancock story seems to have been quickly moved down the priority list on the mobile BBC site. [Post edited 6 Mar 2020 19:23]

There should be rationing IMO, silly people emptying the supermarket shelves, it's crazy. My wife told me that there were only 15 boxes of hand sanitiser on the shelf at Tesco today, after she bought them all, the the manager told her that there was no more in stock, and she'd have to wait until the next delivery, which is tomorrow. That tends to happen during the daily news cycle. The main story on the morning bulletins is hardly ever the same as the one in the evening reports. And of course the Hancock comments were made late last night on QT so it was new news this morning.

What's interesting for me is the sudden change in reporting at the BBC. I can offer a range of theories but the change is in itself interesting.
