A big thank you to Dave Cottle for another great jazz festival. Trying to organise and stage an event like this must be like swimming against the tide on times, but Dave has once again brought fantastic music to Swansea for us all to enjoy. So good to see a Swans Legend there at the last show, hope he had a good time. On a very sad note, Malcolm “Molly” Duncan of the Average White Band has passed away today. He was due to play at the Festival on Friday with the Hamish Stuart Band but was obviously too unwell. He had previously played here along with Hamish and stunned everyone there with his amazing sax playing. RIP Molly and thanks for the music and memories.
In fairness there was a really good band on Saturday evening in the Tav. Great soul funk and jazz and a great singer from Cardiff (so I was told).
Hopefully a lot of others felt the same and maybe might try listening to different styles of music in the future. Unless you try it you don’t know if you like it or not. 😉
