Some good news that we've all been waiting for and very pleasing that we've all been treated equally with the news being released the correct way, on the club's website -

Fans' Forum With New Owner On Monday

Simon Sadler To Meet Broad Cross-Section of Fan Base

Blackpool FC is to hold a ‘Meet The Owner’ Fans' Forum on Monday (1st July).

New owner Simon Sadler will be at Blackpool FC next week and has indicated he would like to meet with a broad cross-section of the fan base in order to start building a relationship with supporters.

The event, which is by invitation only, is intended to allow for an exchange of information and aspirations between Simon and fans as the club enters into this new phase.

In order to make the discussion as productive as possible, the number of attendees will be restricted to 80.

A quarter of the places will be offered equally to committee members of the main fans’ organisations BSA, BST, MSG, TKs, BASIL, Yorkshire Seasiders and Leyland and Chorley Seasiders.

The majority of places will be open for allocation to the wider fan base, by application to the new Supporters’ Liaison Officer.

If the event is over-subscribed, there will be a random draw to help decide on those in attendance, cross-referenced to the attendance list from the March Fans’ Forum to give priority to those who did not attend the earlier forum.

The Fans' Forum will be held on Monday at Bloomfield Road in Rowley’s, arrival from 6.30pm for a prompt 7.00pm start.

When emailing to apply for one of the 60 open places, please answer all of the following:

1) The two questions you would most like to ask Simon Sadler:
2) Your Age:
3) Supporters' Group Affiliations (if any):
4) 2019/20 Season Ticket holder Y/N (block if applicable):
5) Corporate user (ie lounge/1953) Y/N:
6) Fylde Coast based or Exile:

The personal information above is being sought for demographic purposes only.

The two questions for Simon will be used to help shape the agenda even if you are not able to attend the event.

Please register your interest and send answers to slo@blackpoolfc.co.uk by 5pm tomorrow (Friday 28th June).

The MSG did blurt it out yesterday or the day before, but no-one seemed to pick up on it much.

Oh god hope the TK’s didn’t know about that. To be honest I find it all pathetic everyone jockeying for position. Who knows the most.

Stu's got a point about pandering.

Hotels paid for by the club.

The first thing Sadler did was to give a donation.

It's OK to politically keep these elements on side but all the same .......

I’m ok with the donation as it’s a charity thing. Would keep a professional distance from them from now on though if I were SS.

Think you'll find out they were private donations by individuals, not by the Club.

People need to apply, otherwise it will be the same faces. Club have stuck this on Social Media, their website, in the local rag and on obscure message boards, can't see how they could do any more. Up to people to apply now.

Blackpool supporters will have an opportunity to quiz the club’s new owner on Monday, when Simon Sadler hosts a fans’ forum.

It will be the first chance for Pool fans to meet the new custodian, who will fly into town for the first time since buying the club.

Eighty supporters are being invited to attend the forum in Rowley’s bar and restaurant at Bloomfield Road from 7pm.

Sadler has indicated he would like to meet with a broad cross-section of the fan base in order to start building a relationship with supporters.

The event, which is by invitation only, is intended to allow for an exchange of information and aspirations between Sadler and fans as the club enters its new era.

In order to make the discussion as productive as possible, the number of attendees will be restricted to 80.

Twenty places will be shared equally between committee members of the main fans’ organisations: BSA, BST, MSG, TKs, BASIL, Yorkshire Seasiders and Leyland and Chorley Seasiders.

The majority of places are available to the wider fan base, by application to the club’s new Supporters’ Liaison Officer Steve Rowland.

The club stated: “If the event is over-subscribed, there will be a random draw to help decide on those in attendance, cross-referenced to the attendance list from the March fans’ forum to give priority to those who did not attend the earlier forum.”

Sadler, a lifelong Blackpool fan, was confirmed as the new owner two weeks ago, purchasing 96.2 per cent of the club’s shares

The 49-year-old held senior roles in finance and in 2007 set up an asset management business, Segantii Capital Management, in Hong Kong, where he remains chief investment officer.

Born and raised in Bispham, Sadler is a lifelong fan of the club, having watched his first game at Bloomfield Road in 1977, aged eight.

He was also present at Wembley on May 22, 2010 to witness the club gain promotion to the Premier League.

Since 2014, he has been the proud owner of Sir Stanley Matthews’ 1953 FA Cup winner’s medal, currently on loan to the National Football Museum in Manchester.

A former Warbreck High pupil, Sadler was a regular in the old West Paddock throughout the 1980s, watching the likes of Eamonn O’Keefe and Paul Stewart, as well as his all-time favourite Andy Garner.

Sorry to hear that Jane.

I know that you would have proudly represented this message board but it seems as though we now won't be.

Try throwing smoke bombs, invading the pitch, and taking drugs. Maybe then you'll get a seat at the top table without even having to go through the ballot process.

I'd like to know a breakdown on the number of applicants as well as the attendees' accepted.

How many baldy overweights were accepted while Jane was refused.

Without knowing the statistics, I'm a bit sick about this.

At the last forum, only 6 women attended. 4 of those were BST reps. We need a more diverse representation yet a woman is being shown the door here.

Maybe 2,000 people applied and the representation is varied.

If not, it's a sh*t sandwich.

Angry.

The other two friends were Male but none of us members of BST. To be honest I’d rather someone independent at the club had done the draw rather than a BST committee member. It’d be good to see new faces.

BST didn't do the draw. Steve, who's the SLO now I believe did it. Yes he's on the BST committee, but the draw had nothing to do with BST.

The email came from Steve Rowlands, as you say he’s on the BST committee. The form asked what supporters group you were affiliated to. WHY? Does it matter - seems it does.

Jane

It will be to try & get a proper cross section of supporters at the forum.

Let's say 150 BST members applied, and about 15 people who were not affiliated to any supporters group. In a total random draw you could end up with 57/58 BST members being drawn for the 60 places. You would want to even that out slightly to get more of a cross section (well I would).

You could email Steve and ask him to confirm the process he used.
