If it hadn’t been for the personal ambition and ego of Clegg the LibDems could have become a real force. Not going to happen with the current set up though, I agree.

Corbyn on 01:14 - Jun 14 by omarjack | Yeah Corbyn isn't really that great or anything. But I find it strange that you decided to go after him and the Labour while the Tory has turned into a far-right populist shower of sh!t of a party. If anyone deserves to be called a disaster it's them. You're usually one of the most level-headed guys on here Darran. what gives? |
If you think the Tories are a populist its you Sir who are not very level headed!

Corbyn on 10:02 - Jun 14 by omarjack | The Centre should regroup, put their small differences aside and take control. I can't imagine Remain centrist Tories to be thrilled about the fact that they've been highjacked by the UKIP and their nutty allies. They might win elections, But in the name only. Why can't all the centrist (true centrists) unite under the Lib-Dems? In reality close to half of the country would realistically join such movement. You saw how Macron somehow united the centre, And he bossed the election winning 2/3 of the French votes. We need that. |
We need a new political party to do that. That Labour party has been stuffed since that "join to vote for the leader" farce. If the centre Labour party under someone like Umunna or Starmer split from the lunatic brigade Corbyn and friends in a few years they'd be an electable opposition. Until then we are stuck with the Tories, thanks to anyone who voted for Corbyn.
Corbyn on 13:50 - Jun 14 with 2288 views | LeonWasGod | He got a laugh at PMQs though! When he was chosen as leader I though he was unelectable. He surprised me in the way he handled the last election and did a lot better that I thought he would. But he's still essentially unelectable. If you can't beat the shambles that has been the Tories since about 2015 then you don't deserve to be in the game.

He hasn't had much chance with the UK media bashing him constantly and right wing smear campaigns and downright lies.Despite this he's still here, because nobody can lay a glove on him.
Corbyn on 15:55 - Jun 14 with 2239 views | cockneyswan | J C is the only viable leader who will deliver real change to benefit the downtrodden of the U.K. That’s why he has been elected as leader of the largest U.K. socialist party despit the constant lies and smear campaigns by the right wing media.

Corbyn is a bit too extreme for me I would say. But I still rate him as a human being who always stood for what is right. Hope he smashes the right wing c*nts. That's the priority. Then the left and the centre can perhaps negotiate with sense and reason and construct together without the involvements of far-right pedophiles and fascists.

A force for what? Is there anybody outside of the City of London who now sees ‘free trade’ as an unalloyed ‘good’ in and of itself?

The problem corbyn has is he’s only really preaching to the converted at this point. He’s got a fanatical vociferous base, whilst although relatively small in number do make a hell of a lot of noise. He’s also got the vote of the “don’t like corbyn but anyone but the tories” demographic. But even with all that despite a good vote share spike, (them 4 million UKIP votes had to go somewhere) seats wise he’s around the same point as Gordon brown got in 2010 which was widely seen as a disaster.

Corbyn on 07:58 - Jun 14 by Dr_Winston | She does seem a bit useless. In fairness though all three Swansea MP's are f*ckwits of the highest degree. One simpleton in Swansea East, one expenses gouging political placeman in Swansea West and now Antoniazzi. |
She’s stood up for what she’s believed in and resigned her PPS roles. I wish more of them would do it. I’d much rather her than her predecessor who stood up for nothing but himself in his time as an AM and MP. Brexit is a f**king disaster and we need more brave people to put country before party politics.

Corbyn on 12:47 - Jun 14 by 1jack | Have a look at Tonia's twitter and facebook feeds. She's far from useless and if you want someone on your side in a fight she would definitely be my choice. She votes for what SHE believes in, not what she's told to. Go and have a chat with her, you'll find out she's far from a f*ckwit, she's quite tidy (for a politician). Just to add to this I'm no Labour lover, or Tory for that matter, but I do know a decent person when I meet one. |
She’s there to represent her constituents whether she agrees or not. We voted out in the Gower constituency so therefore it’s her job to represent the wishes of her constituents not what she thinks if she can’t then she should resign. These politicians need to remember who actually employs them.

How do you know Gower voted out? Votes were counted as a local authority, not in parliamentary constituencies.

Regardless these politicians need to respect the referendum decision this area voted out. I personally only know two people that voted remain. [Post edited 14 Jun 2018 23:02]

The same argument is made by Remainers when it comes to Swansea West. According to your logic there must have been a huge Leave majority in the East. Some people still can't get their head around the simple fact that in our part of South Wales a majority voted that way. Our three local MPs provide excellent examples of why the oft-repeated argument that we have a representative democracy - that the ignorant plebs should leave it to their erudite Members of Parliament to make the big decisions - falls down.
